Hi, Asad100, unfortunately I did not receive the power preparation test only after taking the exam, I realized to late that I can download it from the internet… I had two books from the library (old books), but one was only with grammar, and I though that the grammar is the same (almost, maybe) but still…noun is noun, adverb is adverb etc., and one was with general things, but both were for TOEFL, so I did not take the power prep. Test. I think that the most important thing I had done, was finding this site, reading a lot of messages, and doing exercises…and reading essays I think helped me a lot. I read especially Erin essays. Well, I am sorry I have no answer for your question, and thank you for your words. I thing you will have no problems…by the way , when is your test? Take care, Ramona!

Hi, Dingus! I know that even somebody is a doctor in another country, that person can not take the license for a nurse here in US, he/she needs to complete the nursing program here ….yes many people believe that it is possible, is not. In my case I have a nursing program from Europe, and also I am a doctor. I choose to get my license for the nurse first just for getting a good job in the field and getting a good salary so I can work less and spend more time studying for the doctor license. Yes, I heard that a lot of doctors come here in US and work as nurses , but just after doing the complete nursing program here in colleges. They do this because in their countries they get paid a very small salary as doctors, so is better for them to come here and do again like two years school and become nurses and get paid more. They do not even try to get the MD license because is very, very hard…I do not know how I will do it, but I try, and if I will not pass at least I will have this nurse license. In my case I did not go to school here, because US recognized my credits from Romania. Not everything, that’s why they did not gave me the RN , they gave me the LPN. They said that I have no enough psychiatric classes…interesting that I have this classes from my Medical school but they did not want to take in considerations because they said that Doctor program with nursing program has nothing in correlation (funny, ha?) but this is life….i am sorry for my long answer , but I hope I was pretty understandable . and also I am sorry if you wrote me before I did not see your message, if you have any more questions I’ll be happy to answer you! hi, Asad100, no, i did not take the test again, after i talked to you I was just waiting for the score...i remember that you said that if i am not passing the only thing to do is just studying more, but it looks like I do not have to study anymore...for TOEFL at least... just because i passed it doesn't mean that I will stop here...i know that I still have to work on my English...in my language (romanian) I am very good in everything, I loved my own language, but English is a beautiful language too, I want to be very good on it. Living in USA i have to speak and understand English...but it is bizarre how different is TOEFL from the language of daily living. Hi, Assad100, i thing gmatguy is right...i thing you should go there very, VERY relax this is the most important thing...have a good sleep (I didn't, my dog barked all night long). i liked that comparison "Like filling a form" yes, king of, just concentrate a little bit more and do not forget that this is an "important form". i read all your messages on this site, and I have a filling that you will be more than fine...you will do very good...my fellings never make mistakes, believe me! Hello everybody, I do not know how, but I passed it. The thru is that I did not need a high score like you guys , but I just want to tell you that I passed it and than you guys can do it too. I start studying 10 days before the schedule exam, I did not know about this super site only like three days before the test, but it looks like it had helped me a lot. Erin, thank you for the essay I found on this site…I never write one in my life…(in English), but since I did not needed a high score on the essay I just concentrated on little and important points from the essays found in this site. THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!! I got 4 on the essay, but good enough for giving me a passing score. My range was 187-250, I got 233. I did not post a lot of messages on the site but I read and learned a lot from you guys. I thing everybody can do it….just do not waist your time with to many books. I read in many messages here on the site about the listening, and I can tell I had a problem too, I got 24 from 30, I expected less than this…because the quality of the sounds was very bad, very bad…I was very angry…but I just told myself that I have to relax and listen carefully, and it looks like I did. I thing this bad quality can make people lose their relaxation and concentration. Now I am done with it, but I would like to do something about it for the people who is going to take TOEFL, if anybody has an idea, please let me know. You guys take care, and I hope to hear from you. PS: Darkseed82 I received my score exactly two week after the scheduled date. I found it yesterday by calling them and pat an extra 10$. So let me know what you did, ok?

Hi, Darkseed100, thank you for your message, my date should be 16 Oct, but on tuesday I will call Arizona Board of Nursing, because I spoke to them today and the lady I spoked to, told me to call her back on Tuesday. They may have it before two weeks. You know, i think I told you , this Board required to have this TOEFL. so , I hope I will know something by Tuesday, I will let you know. Take care, Ramona

Hi everybody! Darkseed82, did you receive your official score? I am in the same, exactly problem…I did not have any idea that I have to click an icon when I am done with my essay, but like Jacob said I think they consider it anyway . My score is 187 – 250, I need 207. My essay was not very good, I think. Well, the score to my essay doesn’t matter as long as add some points there, to make the total 207. I am very nervous, because this is very, very important for me. I already passed the Board of Nursing here in Arizona, so to be eligible to practice my profession I only need the 207 in TOEFL. I speak a lot English, but I do not write as much, that is a problem. After passing the test for the nursing I was so happy that I schedule the TOEFL in two weeks after taking the Board hoping that just to be done. Three days before my TOEFL test I found this super site, too bad that I did not find it eralier. Thank you all!

Thank you very much for replying to my message. Your message means a lot for me, Thank You, even I did not pass, I really appreciate your reply. I had 187 points , I need at leas 207…. I do not thing that my essay is good enough to improve my score…. anyway I was said yesterday but today I feel better, I mean that I can take everything from the beginning , but I need to pass this test as soon as possible, because taking this test contributes to my new job as a nurse. I pass the NCLEX, the Board of Nursing three weeks ago, the only thing remained to perform my nursing skills is this TOEFL. English is so beautiful, but it is so hard to be studied. The Medical Board doesn’t require this test anymore, but the nursing board does; which I do not understand why…so to take the license in USA for the Doctor I do not need TOEFL, but to become a nurse I need TOEFL, strange . Yes, I agree people, who leave in USA should speak English, and especially in professions in which we are in contact with other people…For me is very important to speak and write correctly but this TOEFL is testing more the ability to memorize than the English knowledge. Those conversations are too long, and is not even a conversation, is like a monolog. Well, I do not want to waist your time riding all my silly feeling about TOEFL, I know that I have to study more….maybe I do not have the best book for it… If you have any advice, please let me know. Hi, I would like to know if the essay score is going to be added to my total score, or it is scored separatelly. i am very said, because I think I am not good at all in english....unfortunately I did today 187 , i need 207, so tha's why i need to know if the essay score can improve my total score? or can it make worse?
