Hi everyone,
I recently started researching and preparing for the Phd programs. Could you evaluate my profile and give me any feedback?
Basic Info: Permanent resident in the US. Female.
Education: 3.67/4.0 from an Ivy League, majoring in Economics with concentration on Econometrics and Macroeconomics. Took classes such as Linear Algebra, Advanced Calculus, Graduate level Macroeconomics and graduate level Econometrics.
GRE: V164(93%), Q168(97%), AW4.0
Work Experience: 1.5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a top tech company. Our company is data oriented so the work involves a lot of big data and regression analysis.
Research Experience: 3 research papers from graduate level Econ classes. Presidential Scholar within the Econ department. RA for two Econ professors.
Target Schools: Stanford, Harvard, Chicago, UPenn, Northwestern, Columbia, MIT, UCLA, USC, Duke, NYU.
Research Interest: Management & Entrepreneurship
Based on the information provided, do you think I have a chance at the target school listed above? Additionally, I am worried that my low GPA will hurt my acceptance to top Phd programs. Do you think having a Master will significantly help my chance of being accepted to a good Phd program? Or should I not bother? If you would recommend Master, what kind of programs would you recommend?
Since I am a newbie to the world of Phds, I really appreciate any input you have for me. Thank you so much in advance.
