  1. I've heard nothing at all (nothing via email/nothing via website).
  2. Haha glad to know I'm not the only one!
  3. Anybody else still waiting to hear back from Duke's econ PhD program?

  7. Thanks for the advice! Do you think it would be better to explain that another school has the same visit day, or should I just say that I cannot make it to the visit day and not specify a reason?
  8. That is a good question, and one that I should ask both schools. Thanks!
  9. Two schools have the same visit day, so I can only attend one. I imagine it won't be as useful to go visit when it's not the official visit day, but is it pretty common to do so? And is there still value in it?

  11. Institution: Northwestern University Program: Economics PhD Decision: Pending (waitlisted?) Funding: Notification Date: 3/4/15 Notified Through: Email Posted on GC: Yes Comments: I seem to recall from last year's posts that "pending" means waitlisted, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
  12. Yeah there was an additional link called "View Decision Letter" on ApplyYourself. But going off gradcafe it seems that they are releasing decisions very slowly...
  13. Institution: Cornell Program: Economics PhD Decision: Accepted Funding: 5 years ~ $24,000 stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance Notification Date: 3/3/15 Notified Through: Checked website Posted on GC: Yes Comments: Checked the website; email with funding details came next day.

  16. Did you check the applyweb website? I didn't get an email I just checked the website for my decision.
  17. Institution: Stanford University Program: Economics, PhD Decision: Rejected Funding: Notification Date: 2/27/15 Notified Through: website Posted on GC: Yes Comments:
  18. Stanford usually releases decisions at the beginning of March, although last year they sent them out at the end of February. Fortunately, they do send out all acceptances/rejections/waitlists on the same day it seems.
  19. Institution: Princeton University Program: Economics, PhD Decision: Rejected Funding: Notification Date: 2/24/15 Notified Through: Email Posted on GC: Yes Comments:
  20. Institution: University of Michigan - Ann Arbor Program: Economics, PhD Decision: Rejected Funding: Notification Date: 2/23/15 Notified through: Mass/bcc'd email Posted on GC: Yes Comments:
  21. That would be my guess. I think quite a few other schools do that too. My guess is that they give a later deadline so applicants won't email/call them wondering when decisions will be released, because they'll release the decisions earlier than stated.
  22. Institution: MIT Program: Economics, PhD Decision: Rejected Funding: Notification Date: 2/21/15 Notified through: Email Posted on GC: Yes Comments: Oh well
  23. Institution: Yale University Decision: Rejected Funding: Notification Date: 2/20/15 Notified through: Email to check website Posted on GC: Yes Comments: Institution: University of Wisconsin - Madison Decision: Accepted Funding: $15,000 for first 2 years + tuition waiver + health, support for an additional 3 years (as TA/RA) conditional on good performance Notification Date: 2/20/15 Notified through: Informal email Posted on GC: Yes Comments: First acceptance! They also say to notify them if I get more lucrative offers or offers from departments that outrank them.
  24. It depends on the school. Some schools send out acceptances well before waitlists/rejections (up to a month before), others send them out at the same time, and still others send out acceptances a few days after sending out rejections.
