  1. Hi, I have been selected to a Management PhD Program at a Scandinavian Business School. Given the public nature of the forum I am hesitant to share the name of the school. If the forum members may indulge me, I am talking about one of the top business schools in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. I was hoping to get your advice about some questions: How is the PhD training in Management in Scandinavian business schools? What can be the possible places a person can expect to the place at if they complete their PhD from a business school from one of these countries. How do international students fare at these schools? Is a Post doc necessary after a PhD in these schools or you can get jobs directly after your 3/4 year PhD. This school doesn't really have a tenure track system but appoints post docs and faculty start directly with tenure at the Associate Professor level. Since these schools don't really publish in American journals would it be a disadvantage for someone focused in OB area. They have a really generous PhD scholarship but don't really have an international placement record for PhD students and have placed their students in both industry and academia in the above Scandinavian country, It's also not AACSB accredited, although accredited y EQUIS and PIM. Would it be a challenge for post PhD placement? The PhD salary is rather generous but I am concerned if it will be a comfortable 4 year opportunity to work in my area of interest or would I be stuck without a job after the PhD there. Do you foresee any specific challenge for international students doing PhD there ? Is the Scandinavian PhD experience really as exciting as it seems in various articles (generous salary, benefits and work hours) ? Is the standard of academic research in Scandinavian business schools lower than their US/European (LBS/INSEAD/HEC/ESSEC) counterparts? Sorry for the long list but I don't really have anyone to seek authoritative advice in this regard. Thanks in advance! And sorry for being this anonymous. Regards,
