Thank you guys for the replies so far. I would really like to live in London, but it's just so expensive! How did other students at LSE fund the horrendous tuition fees? And is paying the London premium even worth it considering that I'll probably spend most of the time studying in the library anyway?

Hi, I couldn't find any helpful discussions on this particular topic. As the title suggests I received offers for both the MPhil Economic Research at Cambridge as well as the MSc Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at LSE. I'm leaning towards Cambridge because it is a lot cheaper (£15k vs £24k) and I can somehow scrape those 14k together but I'd have to take out a loan for the remaining 9. What's worse is that I'll be paying in Euros and God nows where the exchange rate will be in half a year -- thank you, Mario! However, in terms of rankings and faculty Cambridge is not exactly the best option and I fear that I'm shutting some doors right in front of me (especially at Top 5 US Phd programs) because everybody just reiterates how the EME has such an awesome placement into US Phd programs. Any comment greatly appreciated!
