  1. And with a rejection from LSE that ends my application season. Good luck to all of you still waiting! I don't envy you.
  2. Was just rejected by Chicago. Just want to get the other 4 decisions and then I can move on with my life.
  3. Yep, I haven't heard either.. I'm not letting myself hope though.
  4. I had a similar situation for Chicago with one of my recs, so assume I'm rejected already too. Oh well! Good luck with everything :)
  5. bump I am planning to apply to 5 of the top 10, 3 in the 15-25 range, and a few European schools (LSE, UCL, Toulouse). Do you think I am aiming too high? Thanks!
  6. PROFILE: Type of Undergrad: BSc in Economics, NZ University Undergrad GPA: 8.54 (9.0 in economics) (9 point scale) Type of Grad: Honours in Economics, same uni Grad GPA: 8.86 (9.0 in econ) GRE: 170Q/159V/4.0AWA Math Courses: Real Analysis (A+), Linear Algebra (A+), Complex Analysis (A+), Calculus (A), Hilbert Spaces (A+), Modern Algebra (A-), Set Theory (A+), Measure Theory (A), Topology (A) Letters of Recommendation: One fairly well known who I worked for over summer, one fairly well known who I do research assistant stuff for, one not well known who knows me very well (was my honours supervisor) Research Experience: Summer internship at a non profit economics research organisation, honours dissertation research, RA for this year. Am co-author on a paper which should be published soonish in good journal. Teaching Experience: Only tutoring Research Interests: Microeconomics, theory Concerns:Average GRE verbal and AWA. No teaching experience. Other: I got an award for being top of my year twice, a bunch of top of class awards for my econ classes, and got an award for being the top undergraduate at my uni. I have a few questions: 1) Do you think I should resit GRE to get a better verbal and AWA? I know that they are not weighted as highly as the quantitative, but am a bit worried that it doesn't send a good signal. 2) What tier of universities should I apply to? I would prefer the top ones, obviously, but would I have a chance? Thanks heaps!
