Hi, everyone! I am now a junior and intend to apply for a phD program in the direction of resource economics, and my ideal school is ucb. I hear that contacting the professors whom you want to be student to in advance by e-mail can promote the possibility of getting their offers, for they will know you better (your research interest and specialty, etc.). As for contents of the e-mails, self-introduction, professional opinions on professor's paper or research work can all do good. So is that true? Thanks for your time!
