  1. If you already have taken classes that covered the topics in the syllabus and you still have it at the top of your mind I would say you don't really need to take it. If you didn't cover all the topics or you kind of forgot good part of it, I would say go for it, especially if they keep the price at $250. (which I really doubt it since I think it's severely underpriced in my opinion.)
  2. Quick review based on the points mentioned by win. 1- For me, the course was extremely useful. Right know I’m taking micro and I’m seeing things I thought I won’t see again when it was taught in the camp. 2- I don’t know how helpful it will be in this regard, however, at least it will indicate that you know what kind of math you need in order to succeed in graduate courses. 3- If you are working or still taking classes in college and you aren’t already familiar -to good extent- with the topics they cover in the course, you might have hard time staying on track even with the 8 weeks’ track.
  3. Thanks for posting this thread sardegna2016. I found a non-filed RA position where I have the preferred skills, hopefully I will get a chance. Thanks for your answer eatorange. I have a question about "Stata programming". Do they mean creating Do files or using Mata? Can you tell us more about the nature of the test?
  4. In my opinion, if you are confident you will get significantly higher grade retake it. Otherwise, don't waste your $200 (unless its not a big deal for you).
  5. You asked 6 months ago then asked her again and she said she is extremely busy? I think she is telling you I can't do it indirectly.
  6. Actually there is an issue with the registration system -at least for me using different browsers- the second step shows a wrong class dates and pricing.
  7. Thank you so much for your helpful answer.
  8. Sounds interesting. Do you think it's helpful even when applying to other universities?
  9. You are planning to apply to ~ 20 universities! I think that will be overwhelming for you and your LOR writers.
  10. Check abebook you can get new international edition for around 20$ if you are willing to sacrifice paper quality.
  11. Thank you so much for your advice guys, I will start with S&B and then consult the books mbferriera recommended.
  12. Thanks Donna! Thanks mbferreira, I have some questions because I'm kind of got lost. So I should skip Simon & Blume and go for these 4 books? Do you mean by introduction just introduction or it's all what I need to do well in econ phd courses?
  13. Hey guys, Currently I'm doing my master in economics and realized how important is math. I took only two undergrad business math courses (and did pretty poor in them since I thought it was useless). So I started learning it by myself and almost finished "introduction to mathematical economics" by Edward Dowling it was very good book I enjoyed it but I don't think it's sufficient since it was easy. What book do you guys recommend to be ready for phd econ classes? I wish if you can recommend a book that I don't need to look for other books after mastering it and hopefully it has sufficient applied problems since I enjoy them more than abstract math. Thank you so much
