  3. I am new to this admissions game. I will be applying for fall 2006. I see that there are like 2 or 3 "rounds" when you apply. What does that mean ? If I apply in round 1 and do not get in , can I apply in round 2 and do I need to resubmit everything and do I need to pay application fee a second time ? Is round 1 for applicants with very strong applications as opposed to round 2 or 3 where applicants have less strong applications ? I'd appreciate some feedback.Thanks.

  7. yes - This is definitely made by New Oriental School - I am curious as to whether the questions contained in it are found in old GMAT paper tests or elsewhere.
  8. I just got a hold of software that runs exactly like powerprep from the Beijing New Oriental School.Supposedly this new oriental school just had a judgement against them from ETS and GMAC for 1.2 million because they were having people sit to take the exam just to memorize questions for their software and classroom courses. It has a lot more practice questions and although there are only 2 computer-adaptive tests- when I reran the 1st computer adaptive test it gave me a new 1st question so I am supposing that there are really more than 2 computer-adaptive tests since it randomly gave me a new question #1.It lets you review at the end however I am not sure if it gives you a scaled score at the end 200-800 - I will have to check it out.I also found chinese sites where people who have just taken the GMAt will post questions that they remember.Plus I downloaded more chinese quantitative and verbal questions in pdf format.I have too much stuff to study besides the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] which I purchased 2 weeks ago.I guess thats a good thing since this test is based on practice, practice, and more practice.I will post some interesting quantitative questions from the software in the future.

    Scoring 800

As we all know out of the 78 questions on the gmat 20 are experimental and are not counted towards your score.I tried this with powerprep. I took the quantitative section and then reviewed afterwards to see which questions counted. Then I retook the quantitative making sure to get all the 28 scored questions correctly while deliberately putting in the wrong answer for the 9 experimental questions. The result was although I definitely answered 9 questions incorrectly I still got a Q51 because they were not part of scoring. So It is theoretically possible to miss 9 questions on the quantitative and 11 questions on the verbal and still get Q51 V51 - 800.Of course you would have to be the luckiest son of a gun in the world, nevertheless you can still miss quite a few questions and still get in the upper 700's if not 800 because there are 20 questions or 20/78(about 25%) that just don't count and are used in evaluation for the test bank for future tests.Of course I wouldn't try and guess which questions counted or didn't count while taking the test. The point is - if you think you missed a question or you know you missed a question - don't panic because it just may be an experimental question - a 1 in 4 chance-Hahhaha.Just my 2 cents.
