Hi everyone,
One of my friend introduced me this forum, and I find out that this website, especially the Econ Club is wonderful and informative. I am senior, which graduate in December 2005. I plan to apply for Econ PhD for Fall 2006. I want to ask you guys a (may be very old) question. Which school should I apply?
Here are my informations:
- GPA 3.7+, GRE 800, 500
- Econ major (~3.7)/ Maths minor (3.8+) with Cal 1,2,3, Advance Cal, Linear Algebra, Advance Linear Algebra, ODE, Foundation of Math, Topology, Intro Stat, Time Series.
- I have merely no research expererience except one small paper, and a senior thesis
- I think my recommendation is OK, but not so great.
I am from a liberal art school which is known in midwest, but outside of that I am not sure about its reputation. There are several schools that I have in mind
- Washington University at St.Louis
- University of Iowa
- Iowa State
- University of Missouri
(all above are shools from Midwest, although I don't have any geography preference)
I want to ask you which range of school I should look into. Is my profile qualify enough for 20-50 school like Virgina, Texas, or Penn State?
Thank in advance for any input. I know TMians, especially you guys from Econ Club, are very helpful and informative. And by the way, my interest is in Macro, but I also can work in econometric, and Mathematical Econ.
