  1. Hi Bright, The MBA is taught in English. You don't need French at all (only to survive outside the school). Professors are from different parts of the world (USA, UK, Holland, Belgium, France, China, etc.). The avg GMAT is 620, but there are people now that had 550... Min work experience is 2 years. Hope that this helps, Mercedes.
  2. Finally I decided to come to Nice to do my MBA at Theseus.... So far, I am very happy with my selection. The course is small, but good because we have the posibility to have 1:1 relationship with professors. Students are from all around the world (despite of the reduced of the class) as well as professors. So far I had Accounting, HR, Marketing, Finance, Economics and Strategic Management. The professors are excellent, the level is high and the work is too much, but it is necessary. We also have French classes for those who want to learn the language (necessary for outside life). There is no need to explain that Nice is a fantastic place and the school is located at Edhec Grand Ecole installations, with all the technology and comfort needed for an intensive program.... Anyone needing any kind of advice, please don´t doubt to contact me... I'll respond with pleasure... Best regards, Mercedes.
  3. Sg2005, My choices in Europe were HEC, Theseus and Grenoble, which I was accepted. I chose HEC in 1st place, but things got complicated to get a loan in my country (or in France but needed local bank as guarantee) and Theseus and Grenoble which are lower level, gave me 50% scholarships. I am not sure what to do, if going to any of these schools or wait for next year (considering my age is not something I am looking for). Besides that I sent inquiries to Manchester Bus School and ENPC París and they all considered my profile adequated for their MBA. I asked Bocconi also, but they say I was too experienced for their full-time MBA, but I think that your experience and age are good for it. There is another excellent option that is Sloan Fellowship program from London Business School. It is for people with 10+ years of work exp. and in their 30 and 40's. I think that it is a great opportunity. They accept self sponsored students, have some scholarships and loans. It is only 1 year long. http://www.london.edu/programmes3400.html Hope this helps...:) Mercedes.
  4. This is my story: I'm 38 with 15 years of work experience and I will be doing an MBA in September. I have applied to European schools (range from 10 months to 16 m duration) and all of them have accepted me. I haven't tried with american ones. If you have a consistent story about why an MBA and why now, I think that you will have no problem. I am working in the IT industry and I am looking for widen my career including business knowledge since I found that I can't go any further without that knowledge. I have a strong experience that includes leadership for almost 10 years, but I lack from business experience. I don't want to do an EMBA, since I will like to do the MBA abroad and be back on the market in a short period of time. Perhaps if you have the possibility to keep your work while doing the MBA, you should think about an EMBA. Regards, Mercedes.
  5. Congratulations Nadal for such a great performance, and Puerta for fighting too.... He really surprised me! It was a great final... :)
  6. Yes, I will be cheering for Cañas, he is such a fighter! But I think that Federer will be the champion this time... Hope not; not because I have something against him (I think he is unbelievable), but to make tennis not boring (always someone winning)... I think that many contenders make this sport more interesting... Perhaps Nadal is able to win sf against him...
  7. I'm so unhappy!! :( Coria is out.... (as well as Gaudio)... bad day...
  8. can anybody help me? I have to make a decision this week, it would useful to have some insights... thanks a lot Mercedes.
  9. Hi Lastry, In http://www.essayedge.com/business/essayadvice/ you could find some tips and examples of essays for business schools admissions. I also bought the Montauk's book, How to Get Into the Top MBA Programs , that was very useful as it has a lot of examples and tips on more different essays types. Hope this helps, Mercedes.
  10. Hi everybody! I am going with Coria!!! Hope he can do it this year! vamos Coria!!!! Agassi was injured. I couldn't watch the match either, but I read in RG site that he had problems with his back. I watched the last set of Justine, and she is not the same player as 2 years ago. 15. Hi Power1, I was about to apply to Sloan Fellowship of LBS too, and ask if my profile (GMAT = 620) was appropiate for their program, and they answered positively. So, your GMAT should be OK for that program also Regards, Mercedes.
