  1. Pictures aren't used in making decisions per se, but some colleges/universities like to have them to remind them that they're dealing with people on the admissions. None of the grad schools I've looked at ask for pics, but when I was an undergrad, I sent loads of photos with my applications. Smaller colleges often publish a pictorial directory of the freshman class with everyone's pictures (as submitted). It wouldn't surprise me that this grad school does something similar, so be careful in picture selection... (my undergrad photo had me in a pinstripe suit, black shirt, white tie... kind of mafioso looking. It got cropped right below the knot of the tie for the freshman lookbook and I ended up looking clerical instead).
  2. Every time I take this damn thing (about 5 year intervals) my verbal slips another 10 points. At this rate I'll have a 0 on the verbal when I'm 381. If I make it that long.
  3. There's not a whole lot out there. I've been working with the Princeton Review book. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0375762671/donhosek There's also the REA book which doesn't really provide any review, but does give 6 full-length practice exams. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0878916377/donhosek And I've found this thing http://www.mo-media.com/gresubject/ which is a kind of hyped-up e-book. No idea if it's worth the price. I took the GRE last week (11 Dec), found it a bit easier than I expected, but didn't perform up to my standards. My expectation is that I scored around 790-810, but I really want 890, so I'll retake it next fall. Calculus is the vast majority of the test. Make sure you know that. And know your vector stuff (Calc III/Linear). That should make a big difference.
