Thanks Ahmed and Yemenja, Let me share some of my effort. This is my 4th try in IBT first two were 2 years ago. I got 79, and 74 from them. That time these scores were enough for me then i decided to increase my score in order to apply post graduated education. Anyway I am just trying to show that I am familiar the exam and I know my weak sides. Before exam I said myself " ok I cannot get very high score from speaking and writing because these are the difficult parts for me to pass, but I can get high score from listening and reading. Then I concentrated my studies in these areas. Ofcourse i did some others studies for speaking and writing. at least I wrote 20 independent essay and 4-5 integrated. and I practiced numerous speaking questions especially first two. Because these questions are important for me to start positively in speaking section. I prepared many answers for common questions from education to dream topic, recorded my answer and listen them again. BUT they did not ask me a familiar one so I stocked at the beginning. Any way, Reading: I completed barrons, 400 words and tried previous toefl reading passages from sampler, and and official guide. And practice them with time limit. Also The online class that Tino offers is really helpful because they give nice tactics and directions. For example should i read whole passage or not, how can i reply chart questions .... you can find very comprehensive answer for them. 1-L tactic is a good example read the first sentences from all parags that last sentence.. be ready for 5 passages. read a lot scientific, historical current topics and try timed practice 3-4 hours long Listening: I listened a lot, while commuting and in my when i am available. radio, lectures, Ted talks ( nice website you can also see the scripts ) search internet toefl listening practice. to be continued..

Thanks Tino, I wish i could follow your wonderful online classes. Actually I could improve speaking and writing section by using your evaluation section but it was a time issue. Eventually your and Christopher's help are very precious. Your experience in question types and tactics to reply them are so clear and easy. All we need to follow your advices. Good score!

On the score page they write the point ( 2.5-3.5) for example. Why they dont write the exact point that you earned, or are those points that two different raters gave.

I think the reason is that using that copy is illegal.

Yesterday in Virginia, at 9.00 pm , I grabbed a cup of tea and passed to my room, opened computer and joined the online class that Tino offered us very generously. I have to confess that I found this training better and more useful than my previous in-class Toefl training. The instructor is well trained and know what the TOEFL IBT is, and he does no wasting time with unimportant, cliche, useless information. He is giving really quick, easy and wonderful tactics. I like it. Before class, I had assumed myself that i know independent wrinting structure well, after class I saw that my knowledge was insufficient. thank you Tina for your assistance and support See you Thursday

In my opinion, additionally to this effort, in order to increase reading score, we must do practice as mush as possible with real or similar questions and timely. Because They are asking really tricky questions and we should be ready for it. And always try with 5 reading passages 20+40+40 minutes periods. That is what you see if you don't get 3 passages.

Eventually i got 80 point last try. As i remember they didnt wait me so long. 2-3 week later i have seen my lower score on my IBT account. they repaid my money 60 bucks the reason they changed my writing score. By the way if they change score either increase or decrease they give the money back, if your score stay same they keep the money. There is a wrong belief in here some people write or think that ETS likes money so if you pay for re-scoring they may give more score to you but the reality is that if they change your score that means : " they made a mistake on evaluation process" so they can not ask for more money to correct it. Now what is my guess for your situation, at least it seems to me they will add 5 point to your score... Do you know why? for high scored candidates they feel more easy to give more, if you got 99 that means you are good at English and they can find some nice things to increase your score.. you r ganna have 104 .... Thank me if you have it... If not don\t use bad words :)

Hi I rescored writing section. It was 79 i just wanted to see 80 but i got 76. they decreased my wrting score from 18 to 15 then i shocked. But as I seacrhed from several forums before rescoring, I have seen that general trend is increase 1-3 point. If you believe your responses and essays they will give what you want. But if you uncertain (like me) dont wait it.

Hi folks, 13th November 2010 I entered Ibt and got 80. I wanna increase my score up to 100. That was my third try i got 79 and 74 before. My knowledge quite enough about it, i just need a partner or more to make more practice as i can. 23 January will be 4th try for me i aready took the date. Is there any body who wants to study together?
