  1. Thanks! This year I applied more widely (i.e., programs in the 20s and some business schools). Last year I only applied within the top 20, as per my letter-writers advice, but it was more competitive than they were expecting.
  2. Any other re-applicant here? I'm reapplying after a brutal cycle last year, really hoping its gonna to be better this time around.
  3. Thank you! And many congratulations for your other offers
  4. Probably a long shot since it's been pretty quiet on GC, but any news from Brown WL?
  5. Oh hey me too! 0a/7r/6ir/4p here. We'll get somewhere eventually, that somewhere may not necessarily be an Econ PhD program, but somewhere great for sure!
  6. I haven't heard from Brown as well. Just judging by the number of posts on GC, it seems like they've rejected most that they want to (or at least I hope so, been an abysmal cycle for me). What intrigues me is the Brown acceptance by email on 16th Feb on GC. Can anyone confirm this?
  7. If it's true, most likely yes. However, in the past HKS tend to publish their results in late February or early March, so it deviates from that trend and may be the case that it is a troll. The poster on GC mention that the results will be published online on Friday, so if it's true, we won't have to wait long anyway.
  8. It's not even that. I received both my bachelor's and master's abroad (but not the US) with high grades and still find it difficult because I have no connections to the US programs. I also feel like I'm penalized for choosing to research my own country domestically, where I can actually lead substantial projects rather than going for a pre-doc in the US. This whole process is deeply frustrating, and I completely relate to MujR, I feel like I just need to move on to another career. It has been a waste of money applying to a lot of these places, especially with my developing-country wages. And it frankly angers me knowing how many of the researchers does plenty of work in my country, yet virtually shutting out its citizens from getting into their programs.
  9. No, and it seems based on the comments on gradcafe that waitlists are out too, so I assume it means implicit rejection :(
  10. Does anyone think that the Harvard (and MIT) acceptances on Gradcafe are fake? There's only one or two of them and at least for Harvard its pretty early. While I don't think I have a chance at both, still sucks to get rejected.
