Took GMAT a few days ago. Happy with the total score but really upset with the Q49. I scored Q51 in Kaplan, PR, PP, and all 9 paper tests (I’m an Engineer and have been working in IT field for over 10 years). In fact, the Quant section was fairly easy, but I was too careful in the 1st half, calculated twice for most questions and finally lost the pace. Had to randomly guess the Q35-37 within the last 16 seconds. Felt Terrible! I was actually planning to re-take the test in Summer. But thought I’d better take the Verbal to get a feel on the real thing. Calmed down after drinking a can of Red Bull :tup: After starting the Verbal section, I reminded myself several times not to think about Quant, just concentrate! I rushed all the way to the last one third and then relaxed and slowed down. I guess I moved on too fast, even with the slower pace, I still had 9 minutes left when reaching Q40. IMO, both SC and CR were similar to, or slightly easier than, those in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip]. Although RC passages were longer than those in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], I think the questions were actually easier (less trickier). Had one 90-liner, 2 65-liners and one 45 liner. Since I am not native in English, I am pretty happy with V41. As for essays, the Argument was easy - full of flaws to attck :). But on the essay of Issue, I could not find too many ideas - just rushed to the end. I spent 2 months on preparation but mainly in weekends. Used Kaplan, PR, and [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip]. Practice test results: PR1: 700 PR2: 710 Kaplan1: 630 Kaplan2: Q51, no total (took a 7 minute break after Quant and then found the test ended! bug??) Kaplan3: 610 Kaplan4: 640 PP1: 730 9 Paper tests: 710 - 790 Didn't have time to take PP2. Will apply for '08. If you know any good resources (books, web sites, etc.) on the application process, please recommend what you think are the best. I'd really appreciate it.
