  1. I took PhD-level analysis last semester and despite fighting tooth and nail for my life in that class I ended with a C+. I am a math/econ double major in a top10 US undergrad and had finished all of my classes (including two semesters of real analysis, advanced micro/macro/econometrics, etc.) with As. The C+ is clearly an anomaly on my transcript (I have a 3.95 GPA with it included; ~4.00 without it). I'm taking the second semester of the class in the hopes of doing better but I'm worried that this one grade will automatically foreclose any chance of getting into a top Econ PhD program. Would appreciate it if anyone has any insight on whether or not this is a dealbreaker/what could help make up for something like this.
