  1. Hi Praveen I strongly recommend The Princeton Review TOEFL Material. If you want, I could pass all 05 Princeton Review 'Classroom' manuals to you. These are not available in the market. They cover: Structure Grammar Listening Reading Writing In addition, they also include 4 CDs on listening. Besides, I could also give you the TOEFL Powerprep CD that includes two CBTs. Let me know what you think. Cheers Gagan

  4. May i suggest that you should try to lay your hands on the GMAT prep material from American Education Aids. The American Education Aids material is simply superb as it trains you in two ways: builds ur foundation first and second, gives you hundreds and hundreds of practice questions. That too, questions taken from past GMAT PBTs. I'd refered to this material the first time while still in college in 1998 and scored a 680 and used the revised material again this year to score a 720. The material also contains over 100 argument and issue essays, which really help you structure your own essays. Just for the record, my AWA score is 5.5. Lastly the material also includes the Powerprep CD. Cheers Gagan
  5. May I wish you the very best for your IELTS LightSay. Just make sure you do a lot of regular reading up before your test date. That should boost your confidence.
  6. I am interested in selling the entire set of GMAT material from The American Education Aids and also all 9 of the current ETS tests. Im in India.
  7. Here are my Kaplan CD Test scores and my actual GMAT score. Perhaps this might make you feel better: Kaplan Diag: 680 KCAT1: 540 KCAT2: 580 KCAT3: 670 KCAT4: 640 Actual GMAT: 720 Do not let the score from the first practice test discourage you at all. Get the best out of time in terms of learning and target a score improvement of atleast 30-40 points on every subsequent test.
  8. 'reliable, valid and comparable' are vague terms. I was hoping Erin wouldve has something to say about this trial testing.

My take is that students should watch out because the trial testing may have snags and/or a slightly different overall orientation in terms of questions' style and structure. Cheers
  10. Absolutely not. Dont even think of penning a word (or in this case, alphabet) during any of the breaks. Strictly not allowed.
  11. Ive said this before and I'm gonna say it again.....make sure you take atleast a few ETS 'retired' tests b4 the real thing. In my opinion, if taken under timed conditions, they're very good indicators of one's final GMAT score.
  12. Hi there Here's a list of material that i used for crackin my gmat. I reckon that its quite comprehensive, both for math and for verbal. Manuals Official Guide 10th Edition Kaplan GMAT 2005 Kaplan GRE/GMAT Math Workbook The Princeton Review GMAT Manual (classroom edition-with strategies) The Princeton Review Additional Hard Math Question Sets (classroom edition) Quantitative Aptitude by R.S.Aggarwal-2005 edition GMAT Study Notes from Arjun Classes, Mumbai GMAT Study Material from American Education Aids, Chennai (contains over 1000 questions from past PBTs, on each section as well as 90 issue & 90 argument sample essays) CDs Powerprep CD Kaplan CD The Princeton Review CD Paper-Based Tests 09 Official ETS (retired) Tests 01 The Princeton Review Diagnostic Test 02 American Education Aids Practice Tests
  13. Hi there The Kaplan 2005 is indeed a great book, especially the CD tests. Make sure u practice the minitests separately as the questions covered therin are different from the ones in the CATs Make sure u do the ETS practice tests as well
  14. Another good way to push up ur math scores will be to first brush up all ur concepts thoroughly. If you'e in India, you could easily procure a copy of RS Aggarwal-Quantitative Aptitude. Except for Co-ordinate Geometry, it pretty much covers most of the topics you will find on the GMAT. I think it's a great starting point for ur quant skills.
  15. Hi all I had enroled for a TOEFL prep course with The Princeton Review , but later backed out. Nevertheless, I obtained all their courseware including 4 listening CDs. If anyone out there wishes to buy the same from me, you could let me know. I wanna give it away for a throwaway price. Cheers Gagan
