  1. It's not as good as UT Austin or Rice but I'd say its probably the next best thing in Texas after those two. It doesn't snow much in Texas.
  2. If ur looking to work in industry afterwards PSU might be bigger considering its huge alumni base.
  3. You still have a chance If there is another professor in your area of interest who can take you. Hang in there, It ain't over till its over.
  4. I'd also recommend UCLA over NYU. UCLA has good math and engineering schools and so probably have more areas of study (good for you since u arent sure of ur area of focus yet). The only concern of course is possible funding cutbacks from the California goverment.
  5. Not sure about Computer Networks in particular but the university has improved a lot overall. They got their new engineering facilities ready at last fall.
  6. Not sure about CS but for ECE dont expect any decisions before April.
  7. Macleans ranking is nowhere near comprehensive or focused as USNews. It doesn't provide program specific rankings and just groups universities based on mainly undergrad, doctoral w/o medical, and universities w/ medical. From my experience, most canadian schools are generally the same, except each school might have certain "flagship" programs which are better or not offered at other universities. UBC & U of T being the largest schools generally have more programs than others.
  8. The application deadlines for Canadian universities are much later than US. So expect to get an admission decision a little later too. My friend applied to U of T and Ryerson for EE and hasn't received any decision yet from either.
  9. Don't worry, you stand a pretty good chance of getting in.
  10. In terms of job prospects, better to go to Rotman (University of Toronto) or Schulich (York University) since they are in Toronto. Queen's is a good school, however, they are located in a small town.
  11. Rotman, Ivey and Schulich are better than Acadia, even for undergrad.
  12. If ur planning on working in the US, go with McGill. It is more well known in the US than Concordia.
