The following is my second attempt. Thanks for your comments~ Topics: 21. Money spent on research is almost always a good investment, even when the results of that research are controversial. The goals of all the research are always to find the unknown, to explain the phenomenon and to promote the welfare of all human-beings. If Thomas A. Edison didn’t invent the electric light, people now would probably still use candles for living. Because of the industry evolution, the lifestyle of all human-beings has been totally turned over. It is said that the convenience and comfort of nowadays society are due to great research and development continuously accumulating. Truly, with the rapid development of the technology, people enjoy it and go for it. Say, through the Internet, people, without any time or borders or geographical limits, could not only connect to everyone all over the world but also gain the enormously abundant information. Also if one forgets to bring his or her cell phone, it would be a tough day on that day. Not to mention that without the electricity or gasoline people would probably outrage for the inconvenience. However, each technology is a two-edged sword. While technology brings convenience to humans, it also takes more serious problem to us: air pollutions make more and more people allergic, while noise pollutions result in people deaf and so on. As technology is somehow controversial, so is most of the research. Say, after the human genome project was completed and totally human DNA sequences were unlocked, the thriving bioinformatics is expected to overcome fatal diseases by designing drugs or even cloning living body, which is the most disputable issue with morals and solutions to diseases that some countries legitimate to prohibit. The nuclear problem is also famous for controversy. We could not neglect the huge power of nuclear energy producing for providing base needs of main cities all over the world. However, while Albert Einstein discovered the power of nuclear function, he also regarded himself as a sinner. Though the nuclear bomb ended World War II lasting for several years, it brings more serious suffers to people of Japan, abnormal and malformed. Nowadays the United Nations declares that the nuclear weapon is forbidden. In conclusion, we could not doubt that the benefits of all man-kinds resulted from all of the research. However, the great scholars and researchers, while diligent hardworking, need to put more emphasis upon moral philosophy. After all, the most important of all is the lasting living of whole human-beings.

This is my first attempt.Please assess this and let me have your comments thanks a lot:) Since the ancient time when humans living in cave carved some meaningful symbols made up of lines and circles, the art history of humans has been recorded. With the research of archaeologists, people start to understand what the symbols represent and realize that they reflect the past culture instead of accidentally scribbling. That is the origin of art. Until now, there are many kinds of art developed with different forms and distinct way to soften the mind of people. Say, literature, graceful and touched, always give people incredible influences on the points of view and the perspective thinking while songs, euphonious and moved, always make people loose their tense and tiredness. Not to mention that in recent years films of Hollywood, full of adventure and fantasy, thrive all over the world. Art is needed everywhere. However, most of the masterpieces are difficult to understand while on the contrary the temporary art, such as popular music, easily transfer its facial meaning to audience. People might be used to accept the popular culture nowadays but not even to approach the unfamiliar classics culture. Some people might wonder that without comprehension where the value of those famous masterpieces to most of the people is. Also without understanding, how do they know the depth of the masterpieces and the breath of the art? Truly, there is always a gap between public cognition and artists’ creativity. Many people would feel confused when they see the self-portrait of Picasso made by passions and turbulence, while listening the symphony of Fate composed by Beethoven, the great composer fought for his deaf, people might just sound comfortable without complete understanding about the enormous efforts Beethoven cost. However, are these masterpieces not understandable to most people would lack of merits? Of course not. Though the masterpieces might be not so easy to understand, behind the surface the values of so-called masterpieces lie in the outstanding skills and the excellent originality, the diligent hardworking and the supreme spirits. The lasting values of masterpieces are not judged by people without totally comprehension but the experts with scrutiny. Through the explanations of the experts, we would learn more from the work and recognize the greatness of tit. In conclusion, any work of art has its own worth. After all, the greatness of masterpieces is the sublime souls of the artists itself.
