  1. Hi I already have taken the GRE Mathematics Exam. Calculator of any type, is not allowed in this exam. Naseer
  2. Hi akmkat bd! There are other ways to show -1=1, e.g. Consider -1/1=1/-1 now taking square root on both sides, we have => Sqrt[-1/1]=Sqrt[1/-1] => Sqrt[-1]/Sqrt[1]=Sqrt[1]/Sqrt[-1] now by cross multiplying, we have => Sqrt[-1] Sqrt[-1]=Sqrt[1] Sqrt[1] => Sqrt[-1]^2=Sqrt[1]^2 => -1=1
  3. Since c=(16 Pi a^2 b)/(9 a^2) =(16 Pi b)/9 by cancelling a^2 => 1=(16 Pi b)/(9 c) => (+ or -)1=Sqrt[(16 Pi b)/(9 c)] Since "a" is arbitrary +ve number, and column A is either +1 or -1, So Columns A and B are not comparable.
  4. Dragonfinity, limit x->infinity was typing mistake,I am agree with you and infact it is limit n->infinity. But please explain how the series converges for -ve values too? Thanks for rectification and comments
  5. quiza, Here, a(n)=2^n.x^n/n! => a(n+1)=2^(n+1).x^(n+1)/(n+1)! So, |a(n+1)/a(n)|=|2x/(n+1)| For convergence cosider limit x->infinity|a(n+1)/a(n)|=limit x->infinity|2x/(n+1)|=0 =>The series converges for all the +ve values of x and radius of convergence is infinity
  6. ish, in case of log of base 10, the maximum area will be 1/(e ln 10) ;ln denote the natural logrithm.
  7. ish, I have studied your question in detail. Since all the values of y in fourth quadrant are negative, so we will have to take absolute value of y. i.e. | y | = - y = - log x (because y
  8. Ahsan, please don't mind i think your answer is probably wrong. By using acd's idea i have solved the question, which is as follows. Area of the rectangle above the line y=x P(x Total area of the rectangle 2.5 = ---------- 2*3 5/2 = ---------- 6 5 = ------- 12 A better solution with figure is in attached file. I think it is right answer. Thanks acd, for the idea. solution.doc
  9. acd! thanks for an ideal. I will work on this idea.
  10. If x belongs to [1,3] and y belongs to [1,4], find the probability that x Can anyone solve it…
  11. There is a message Forbidden You don't have permission to access /languages/english/ on this server. what i should do?
  12. In third option, How do you define the largest subset of N? Please explain!
