  1. Hey guys.. Is there anyone who has given their exams in LA? I would like to know some details about the exam centres here, since I intend to appear for my GRE here in Pasadena or LA. And I will surely remember all the info by Dingus....Thanks man.
  2. Hey mhm... Got your point this time. And yes even though my scores in Powerprep are good,I did not have any idea of what to expect in the real GRE.I am still frightened stiff and hence am looking for more practise and more information. I am a literature buff but surely GRE requires me to be more than that !!! As to my mistakes in Verbals, I had said 2-3 in each section;that makes it about 12 to 15 mistakes...I have made 17 mistakes precisely. And I am not yet done with Barron's or Guru's. As for my Q section I have made 10 mistakes there too. My RC was ok ,made 2 mistakes...which I think is ok for my first time. My AWA is yet unchecked so I dont know what score I would get on that. So,gist is, I dont have the confidence to take up the real test yet and no idea as to what would be my best... Thanks & Regards.
  3. Hey Ikhlas... I too am in the prep stage for my GRE and can quite understand the difficulty of reading passages twice...one surely never gets enough time. But that said,I think if you have some time before your exams,do get in to this habbit. One may find it difficult initially to read twice and yet be in time...But as the mind gets used to analysing the data and breaking it in to parts,it becomes easier to deal with long sentences and the often gibberish sounding information. Hope this helps. All the best.
  4. Hey mhm... Though I am comfortable with antonyms and analogies, its the sentences which really get me down. Can u suggest any practise links for those ones?? Thanks for the score info man...and I will definitely look up the number2 link. Hey I didnt quite understand this one....Plz correct me if I misunderstood you...why ever on earth did u ask that?? Regards.
  5. Hey there.. I have just started my studies 15 days ago and I dared to attempt this test...I finished it in 23 min and scored just 17...but I guess this was a great eye opener.Keep them coming... Regards.
  6. Hey Salem.. I think that besides the info on the above website a small secret to reading any passage is to read it twice....read it once very fast to understand the structure of the passage and read it again to understand the content. This way one can easily transform oneself from any previous mindset totally in to the passage ahead. And we can also save time in answering the more direct questions which we can recollect easily. All the best.
  7. Hey mhm...thanks for that one. Yes I am an english literature buff.I always loved classic victorian english and can safely say that I have a decent vocab...I would have been a journalist if not a doctor!! I have started my studies by taking up Barron's and also attempting Powerprep which I downloaded. I am making 2 to 3 mistakes in each of my verbal sections though quantitative is ok.I have just attempted one issue for Analytical writing...but dont know where to get it corrected from.I have started my prep 15 days ago and I have plenty to be done. I wanted to know if there are any other sources online for test prep?I am trying to lay my hands on Big book for some days, but I dont know any used book stores in Pasadena,CA...will have to try hard. Getting study material is a problem for me since i have just moved in from India. My comp is my majr saviour,uc.. Also do tell me what is a good score and what is the best score...I wish to be the best.
  8. Hey ppl, I am a medical grad (B.A.M.S.) and wish to appear for my GRE exams as late as possible:( . I am too tooo worried coz I dont know how to go about it.
