N ur comment ( argument without support, hard to understand ), could u please tell me more specifically. Thank u.
  2. dear Leosnake, please accept my thanks for your very kind comments on my essay, I must admit that i could not write in just 30 mins ( indeed nearly 1 hour), this includes time to revise some silly grammar mistakes and to delete stupid ideas. But, i wrote ceaslessly. I am trying to improve my writing skill, especially my skills to express my ideas. I will try to write in shorter period of time. Thank u so much!
  3. Thk u Erin for ur message! I understood the message well. I'll try to follow n wait for ur comments on my essay on "bamboo tree".
  4. What is one kind of plant that is important to you or the people in your country? :hmm: When talking about the plant which is important in my country, it often immediately reminds me of the bamboo tree. In my opinion, this kind of plant is important not only for its material values but also for the spiritual values it could contribute to the culture of Vietnam. First, bamboo tree has been a major material for constructing houses in rural areas of Vietnam for a thousand years and today it continues to be a type of decoration material in modern buildings. With such characteristics as light weighting, durability, and perpendicular, bamboo could ideally be made into parts and components of cottage houses like house frame, walls and wattle fences. This type of house still remains in many rural areas of Vietnam and shows the advantages of long lasting, cost saving, and keeping house cool in summers. Thanks to the advancement of technology, bamboo is now processed to be industrial material for decorating ceilings or walls of new houses and for building of Vietnamese stylish restaurants in urban areas. Second, bamboo has been seen as a symbol of unity and love of the Vietnamese people. In our country, the bamboo tree is widely known for its connection with "Giong legend", in which an infant could not speak, or walk until 3 but suddenly stood up, grown big, united people and used bamboo trees to fight and defeat foreign invaders. The legend is just short and simple but it shows the unity of Vietnamese people in defending our country and the love they extend to homeland. Bamboo is also brought into Vietnamese literature, reflecting the love between parents and children and the love between compatriots through the simile of each bamboo tree in a clump with a person in the whole community. Besides, bamboo is contributing to the formation and introduction of Vietnam culture to the world. Once visiting Vietnam, foreigners shall have opportunities to observe and enjoy drinking and eating habits of Vietnamese people. Beside of tasting the food originated from bamboo trees, bamboo sprout, they would realize the frequent appearance of bamboo items in the daily life of Vietnamese people like chopsticks, bows and bamboo tape fans. They will also be impressed by small gifts made from bamboo, like small pictures or statues they could buy when leaving Vietnam. Bamboo trees have been grown in Vietnam for a thousand years. Today, bamboo trees are used not as popularly as in the past, but for many people, it remains the symbol of their countryside villages and would be the most typical plant representing the culture of Vietnam. Looking forward to your kind comments :) Thks in advance!
