  1. Hey everybody, I've got addmited into the European School of Economics - Milan and London campuses, onto the International Bussiness undergraduate degree. They give me 50% scholarship which is the maximum they award (or so they say). However, it is hard for me to provide the rest of the tuition. And, I don't know which campus is better to choose. Please guys, if you have any information about this university ,or know someone who study there, let me know. I really need your help. This is perhaps one of the most important decisions in my life. I will appriciate any help. P.S. Do you know is it possible to find some sponsorship and how????
  2. Wish you good luck. Try not to get too nervous.........(if that's possible)!!:)
  3. mishum: no, we couldn't use the scratch paper during the reading section.
  4. betech, My TOEFL was before 5 days. On powerprep my ranges were: test1 200-257, test2 209-263. On the actual Toefl I have 220-277. So the difference between powerprep and the real toefl is +/- 10 points. The actual test duration is about 4 hours (or less), because of the turorials before each section. But the duration of each section is as in powerprep. Wish you get much higher score on the acctual test. Good luck.
  5. ksa: ETS send powerprep disk a month after registering for TOEFL. But, it may arrive later. Ask your friends who had took the TOEFL to give you the powerprep disk (I did like that). Wish you luck!

    please, rate it

I like your essay. Congrats However, I think it is good to use more linking words- to begin with, another point is, furthermore, firstly, secondly......and so on; and more examples too. Don't forget that the main thing is the right structure of the essay and you could get much higher score if your essay is well structured.
  7. Ricihe: try to find CAMBRIGE CD for the CBT-it's harder than BARRONS or LONGMAN, and from my experience I can tell it's harder even than Powerprep and the real TOEFL (which I have already took). If you do the Cambridge tests you will have no problem with the others. cambrige listening- questions much harder than on powerprep reading-tough passages with uncommom words Unfortunately I don't know from where you can find these CDs- I got mine from my english teacher. But if you have no other option the PBT materials will work too.
  8. I have already took the TOEFL exam so....yeap, we are given the scratch paper during the 5 minute break, which is before the reading section.
  9. Akas: the same as above-your essay should be evaluated!
  10. Hey Ciganina, I just got my TOEFL exam two days ago (26.04) with score range- 220 to 277. So I can tell for sure that the reading section was quite easy-there was only one tough passage, but the others were just fine. I think that the confusion is from the fact that the texts have complex word oreder, and you must read very carefully before answering.
  11. Oukhou, read cearfully the first sentences of each paragraph, cause many times it is hard to determine the main idea only from the first one, and then try to guess it. Good Luck
  12. Hey guys I did it!!!:) Listening-27 Structure/Writing-12 to 29 Reading-27 Total: 220 to 277 The essay topic was a little bit tough: Holidays honor people or events. If you could create a new holiday what person or event would it honor, and how would you want people to celebrate it? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer. I'm glad of my score range-it's the highest one I ever get. On Powerprep my ranges were: test1 200-257; test2 209-263. The listening was very clear, not as in the powerprep. In the reading section, there was one difficult passage, but the others were OK. ....I can't believe it's over-no more studies, only fun[clap] ... If you, fellows, have some quiestions don't hesitate to ask me- I'll try to help!

  14. Hey guys, I'm facing a big problem in financing my studies. My dream is to study in Italy. Last yaer I've visited Italy and I just fell in love with it.Well the problem is that the university I aim to does not provide full scholarships, only 50% of the total( EUR 10 000). But even if I get this 50% I can't afford to pay the rest of it( EUR 5 000). :( If someone knows what can I do about this please let me know. I've tried different web-scholarship searches but most of them want me to be a US citizen or to study in US university.... So please...on more time...help me to find this money...... I'm counting on you fellows......
  15. Dear Amee, it's difficult to say what exactly to do to concetrate because everyone has his/hers own trick. However, mine "trick" is to gaze at a particular point (anywhere but the screen) and listen carefully. Just try not to look about the room and try not to think of anything else! For me it is very important not to look at the screen because the pictures themselves distract me, I look at the screen only when it is necessary. Try to grasp the accents in the talk. And most important-don't PANIC!! I hope I have been of some help to you !
