  1. C is far easier to identify if you start eliminating the others . The Q stem stem states "children are especially likely to develop strong aversions to some foods" this is best supported if we assume that "Children tend to have more acute taste" A&B weekens the argument D&E are irrelevant and little out of scope
  2. geeky if includes 3 times then by your calculation Actual only 2 = 80 - 3* => 80- 3*20 = 20 By multiplying by 2 instead of 3 are you not counting "only 2 and above" rather than "only2" or "exactly2"?
  3. P(AuB) = P(A) +P(B) + P© – P(AnB) – P(AnC) – P(BnC) + P(AnBnC) + None I presume you are using the same formula as above and breaking the expression -P(AnB) – P(AnC) – P(BnC) = - only 2 - all 3 which is right but what about P(AnBnC) ? Are u not missing this..
  4. Let O represent places which vowels can occcupy and X represent places which Consonants can occupy XOXOXOXOX Vowels can occupy 4 places and consonents 5. Since their are only 3 vowels first one has a choice of 4, second 3, and third 2 Therefore (4*3*2)*5!
  5. I got 20% by the same logic suggested in twinsplitter's post.
  6. yeah will go with 1-35c3 / 50c3 = 373 / 560
  7. To couples and one single person are seated at random in a row of five chair. What is the probability that neither of the couples sits together in adjacent chairs. 1 / 5 1 / 4 3 / 8 2 / 5 1 / 2
  8. For two category sets, it's simply P(AuB) = P(A) + P(B) - P(AnB) P(EuF) = P(E) + P(F) - P(EnF) 90=20+80-P(E n F) P(E n F) = 10
  9. I normally use the following formula when the Question asks for two subsequent increase in % to calculate net increase X% + Y%+(XY/100). 10%+20%+ (200/100) = 32% Assuming 100 as the base and the net increase as 32% we get the increased value to be 132. Just approximate from here on. No calculation required. With the base now as 132 the ans has to be between 20% & 30% to get back to 100. B is correct. This would just take few seconds
  10. Q1 The C.I. earned in two consecutive years on a deposit is $490 and $ 588. Assuming annual compounding find the rate of interest. A 22% B 18% C 15% D 10% E 20% Q2 Of the following, which is the greatest amount of money that a person can borrow at an annual interest rate of 6.5% if the loan and interest are to be aid off at the end of one ear with the money from a check for $1600? A $2460 B $1704 C $1520 D $1500 E $1040
  11. 40. Will go with A. This is the only option which relate to the specific function of Oligosaccharins. Lines 11 & 12 ("Unlike the oligosaccharins, the five well-known plant hormones are pleiotropic rather than specific...") states that Oligosaccharins are specific by nature 41. Will go with E. The option again stems from the specific nature of Oligosaccharins. Option A can be eliminated as the passage does not talk of daily functioning. Similarily Option C & D though mentioned in the passage do not describe Oligosaccharin's characteristics.
  12. Will go with C 1) I presume root 2 is length of PQ 2) From option 2 we get the lenth of the other two sides of the triangle. With three sides of the triangle we can find the area.
  13. My ans is A similar approach to alex. dsaqwert could you explain your approach or if their is a shorter logic to get to the ans.
