I can't believe it! I am suppossed to be writing the test right now, but instead of doing so, I am sick in bed :crazy: Did this ever happen to anyone before? My question: Do I get the enrolment money refunded, at least some of it? Where do I get information on this matter? Second question: I am of course planning on retaking the exam as soon as possible. The next available date in Switzerland where I am taking the test is only in october. Does anyone know, when the toefl is changing? I really liked the paper based version, practised it well and got accustomed to it. So hopefully things will stay the same until october and I get my money back. I would be very glad for any advices and tips

Thanks Phuong you are right I should definitly check with the center before the date of the test! Your "magic formular" sounds really good! But now I have one more question: I downloaded all the essays and started making notes to some of them, then I realised that they are for CBT only! Are the essay topics all the same regardless of the testing-method or are they different? So there is no point in going over the exam topics if I have to do the paper based toefl, is there? Thanks

Thanks, Renata So I better not take any notes at all, I'd rather get a worse mark than be disqualified. How about the essay? I guess I can take notes first before writing the whole thing, can't I? It must be very hard to write a good essay from beginning to end

Hello everybody, I will be taking the paper based toefl exam in 8 days time, and need some basic information: I am not sure, if I am allowed to write on the paper they hand out. When I did some tests for practice I always marked sentences and phrases in Section 3, the reading comprehension. Am I allowed to do so during the test? I also have some difficulties with the listening comprehension when I hear longer conversations. There I know, that I am not allowed to take any notes, but can I mark my answer sheet, while the conversation is still going on? Thanks in advance, ten-four
