I am thinking of going to a university for my MA that is definitely not the top in my field of interest, however it would be extremely cost effective when compared to going somewhere else. And the faculty have been very warm and welcoming. My concern is that when I go for the PhD, will the choice of school inhibit my chances for a good program.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and am looking for some suggestions on reapplying to grad school. I was accepted to two schools about 3 years ago and wasn't able to attend because some family situations. Now, I am ready to restart the admit process but I'm nervous about contacting my old profs for recommendations again. How to approach them-any thoughts? Thx!

I received my BA from there a few years back. Its a great town with lots of conveniences for students, grad or undergrad.
