  1. hey everybody, here is my score Listening: 25  Structure:13-30  Reading: 25:mad: Total: 210 -267 Essay topic: Some people prefer to eat at restaurants other to prepare food at home.Which do you prefer? Use reasons and specific examples. Listening: What can I say? the conversations were really long and the sound quality was also poor.I think I messed up the first questions... there were 30 questions:crazy: Structure: wery similar to powerprep, I expected this to be the most difficult part :) Reading: ugh...really long and hard passages, there were 44 questions Essay: I'm very anxious to find out the score I got here :) , the topic was prety easy, I think I wrote it well as I already had practiced it. Anyhow I only need a score of 213. Last but not least, thanks TM!!!

  3. Some people pay money for the things they want or need. Other people trade products or goods for what they need. Compare the advantages of these two ways of obtaining things. Which way do you prefer? Explain why. In the past when money had no meaning to people trading of the goods in order to obtain others was vital. Early commerce was based on these kinds of exchanges. This depended mostly on the needs of the people involved in the act of trading. For example one traded a certain amount of wheat in exchange for some metal, for instance, as he needed metal to make better utensils to improve its productivity. By doing so the value of the gods traded had a bad balance, this means that often one of the merchants got in exchange an amount which had a smaller value than what he traded. More often one could trade only a certain type of merchandise. So one of the disadvantages of trading goods is that often the value you obtained as a result is lesser than the one you traded. After money was discovered everything got more balanced and a little bit more complicated. So each product had its own value, measured by means of price. Also a good thing for the merchandisers was that each product had a specific price which usually didn't vary too much. With the money earned from selling things people could buy almost any other product. A big advantage is that you don't have to walk around with all your stuff to be traded, the reason is simple money is easier to carry. Most important thing is that nowadays when you buy a product these are usually to be found in specialized stores and for most of them the customer receives a warranty certificate. If it breaks or if it stops functioning you will send it back and receive another one. I don’t think this works with traded products. As for me, I rather prefer this kind of trading, buying things, because in my opinion the value of a product is better reflected in its price and also it saves me from thinking what the things I should trade today are? How can I now I would not need them anymore?
  4. The twentieth century has seen great change. In your opinion, what is one change that should be remembered about this century? Give specific reasons and details to explain your choice. As the internet developed we witnessed a significant change in our communication with others, we have a lot of information at our command and it also has a significant influence on our behavior and our life style. So in my opinion the internet is one of the things this century should be remembered. First, the internet, or briefly "the net", facilitated communication. Most of the people have a personal computer at home so it's very easy for them to correspond if they are from different countries, or even continents. The so called chat programs were developed, where you can virtually meet hundreds and hundreds of persons, you can talk almost about everything and make many new friends. Better inventions are those programs which allow you to actually talk with somebody, you simply put on a headphone and a microphone and you can speak for hours. Unfortunately this one has also a negative side. We are more preoccupied with typing, we invent new acronyms and we tend to loose our verbal communication abilities. Also the information found on the internet could be very useful, for example if you try to write an article on a certain topic it will be very easy to find some guidelines. But one can find also information which shouldn't be posted on the internet, for example how to make bombs, satanic propaganda, xxx rated sites and so on. This can be very dangerous to children as most of their parents don't survey them while surfing on the internet. Such negative influences can affect also our behavior. The internet also changed our life style. You can easily buy things without moving one finger. Sometimes this is a good thing, if one has a very tight schedule this can save some time for him. And again, this also has its negatives, for example this kind of shopping made a lot of people became lazy. Nowadays more and more people prefer to make shopping’s from home, sitting comfortably on the couch they just wait until the parcel is brought in. All in all, I think that one of the big changes in our century is related to the internet, which came with many good things and also some bad ones, but with a controlled and proper use we can make it be more appropriate to our needs. Any remarks? Thanks!
