Hi, I have admits from both the University of Delaware and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, for their Masters program in Computer Science. How do these 2 schools compare in terms of: Research, Funding opportunities, Placements, location.? I would be glad if I could get some input from people who are familiar with these schools, for a general idea, so that it could help me in making my choice of a school. Thanks.

yeah...the thing is, the univs that I score reported to on the test day were kind of ambitious ones... Now, my point is this...if I not-so-great univ, a candidate sure-shot for me opens up my pkt and finds those univs on my score report, won't they think twice before admitting me? So, to not have any form of confusion I thought about looking for some other way.... Will the univs find it odd to see that part blank? I mean if I cover it up and photocopy it...? Has anybody done this before?..i.e either scoring out the other univs or pasting a paper on the appropriate area and then photocopying to conceal the fact

Hi, I'd like to know if it is advisable to send out photocopies of official GRE and TOEFL score reports along with the other stuff we send to the university.. I was wondering how it may be for everyone to know where all I have score reported....Isn't that a bad thing?

Hi cridamour, Thanks for your reply..Well, yeah, I plan to type in something in all those boxes....Just that I am worried now that I have to complete 8 apps and all the paperwork in a week's time with my hands already full!:(..so was looking for shortcuts..:)

what if i copy-paste from the SOP the relevant portions into those boxes? would it look bad? i mean the same stuff in both places?

GRE 1300 - Q- 800 - V -500 AWA 4.5 TOEFL - 287 - TWE 6 SUNY-SB is a kind of ambitious for me i suppose..anyway, i'm applying.. I am still not so very convinced about what application material goes where...the site doesnt mention anything clearly.. Do I have to take 2 copies of the reco from each of the 3 refree's or just 1? Where do the reco's and transcripts go? I know the proficiency and coursework forms on the CS admissions website need to go to the CS department.. is there anything else to be sent? any financial stuff??? i'm just very confused.. can anybody who has either applied earlier or is applying now fill me in with this info...thanks..

Hi, I am in the process of filling up my online applications.. I have come across forms wherein they ask us to answer questions pertaining to our SOPs. Now, they typically ask 2-3 questions, like say on the VT form.... I don't want to answer these questions on the online form and want to send my SOP as it is along with other application materials to the univ. My SOP in any case answers all those questions and I prefer it if they read it wholely as it is.... So, is it possible that I simply enter "please refer to my statement of purpose" or something to that effect in all those boxes that ask those questions so that they read my SOP hard-copy to know all the answers:) ?....OR would it be a problem if I do that if they later feel like my application is incomplete? Please can somebody fill me in with this info..it is urgent.. Thanks.

can't we do the score reporting for TOEFL scores online? atleast thats what the website says.... can any1 enlighten us with the exact procedure?

Hi all, I am currently working on my SOP. I have a question. Now, my research interests are about 4-5 areas...sub-disciplines of computer science so to say....Now, when I mention my interests on the SOP, do I mention all or do I have to just pick one and speak only about it...and if so on what basis can I pick that 1 topic?

Hi, Is anybody here applying to SUNY-SB for MS-CS? If so, I have a question. The dept page mentions that we have to complete the online app (ofcourse) and mail the "checklist" and "CS proficiency" forms to the CS department. So, where do the transcripts and Lor's and the SOP go? It would be great if somebody could tell me clearly about what goes where! Thanks.
