  1. Hi, I got admits from Univ Florida (MS Computer Engineering) and UC Irvine (MS ICS) and i am really confused as to which to pick... UF is offering me a partial schol (500 odd per unit) and nothing up front from UCI. I also got into USC but i figure that is just too expensive to be considered here. Could someone please give me some info on the programs, estimated expenses, fin aid chances after joining, job prospects etc. So i can have an idea of wht i have here.. For the record, I have around 4 yrs exp as a programmar if that is of any use. Please advise. Sam Please guys,, i really need help deciding over the next 2 days... any sort of information would do!!!! I'm really in limbo here Thanks Sam
  2. Thanks a lot gforce and NeverSayDie for your gr8 inputs, that has really got me thinking. Ritwik i usually get one wrong somewhere or the other for quant, that is why i was accounting for that in my projected score. Guys i am seriously considering the Compu Finance options(along with FE) but i am seeing that only the top schools offer it (GeorgiaTech, UC Berk, Purdue, CMU and the likes). People tell me that they are very tough to get into with my profile. Could you please give your inputs on that. Also how different would this be from an MBA finance? Also since my work exp was predominantly in telecom how do i convince any school of my interest in finance?? Thanks a bunch......
  3. yes my rank would be round about the middle in a class of 50. I am confident of the GRE score cos i had given it once and after doing badly i got a 740Q and a 510 V, but i know i am better than that. Will the second attempt to raise my scores affect my chances as well????
  4. Hi all, I hold a EE bachelor degree from one of india's top 20 colleges (6.5/10 gpa). I presently have 3 yrs of software consulting experience working with a leading US telecom company. I plan on doing my MS, majoring in CS and possibly a minor in Finance(i prefer math to telecom). I am confident of securing a 770Q and 560 V GRE. 1)Could anyone please provide insights on this option, or even share any experiences/instances you know about. I am also open to discuss this further if anyone is interested. 2) Although i have checked out the top CS lists and the various finance programmes on global derivatives.com i am unable to come up with a good list of prospective schools for my choice. In my present work schedule i do not see it possible for me to prepare/take GMAT or a Subject GRE so if any of you are aware of any reputed colleges that are fitting my bill(financial aid would be a bonus) please do let me know and i will check them out. Thanks CuriousSam
