Hi all.
I plan to take up the GRE test, sometime in future (sometime in 2007).
I have done my Engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, scoring an average of 78%. Currently I'm working with HCL Technologies as a software developer since 6th June, 2005.
As you can see, my Engineering institute is not any IIT/Bits Pilani/etc, I seriously need to concentrate on my work-experience, which I want to be atleast 2 years (before going for MS) & working at HCL provides me exactly that.
So... big question...
1) Will the work-ex compensate for the other things that i dont have?
Another thing...
2) When I plan to give GRE & get into a good univ abroad, I would be having an almost flourishing career here in India, as by 2007 i would have a work-ex of about 2 years in software development & a total IT experience of about 3 years.
Hence... would it make sense to go for MS at that time? Or should i stick to my career here in India?
3) Are the career opportunities (in India & abroad) better after doing an MS? Specially considering that the person already has a 2/3 experience before going for the MS.
4) Is an MS better that going for an Postgrad from India (considering only the IIT's). Money/fees is not a big factor. I'm concerned about my knowledge level after completing the course.
5) Do the universities have any kind-of Campus placements for PostGrad students? (Talking in general, no univ. in particular).
Please help & guide.
Thanks,
