2 inequality questions

Onir, I think you made a mistake for the second question.

"For the second question, any of the statements would give the answer. So it is 'D'"

in fact :

(1) x > y + 2 > y so A is sufficient

(2) 2 + x > y means x > y-2.

Let's say x=y-1 then x>y-2 but we cannot conclude that x > y.

So with numbers:

if x=8, y=9

2+x> y as 2+8>9 and x

if x=10 and y= 9

2+x> y as 12>9 and x>y

B insufficient

Answer : A

I think answers for 1 and 2 are E and A respectively......

Explanations first for Q2 (which ssang marked as B)

Stem 1

x>y+2

insert positive numbers..which full condition..

if x =8 then y

for negativ numbers

if X = -4 then y y

So, for all numbers condition satisfied

STEM -2

X > Y-2

insert numbers which fulfill conditions..

a) positive numbers..

if x = 6 then we can take y = 7 and also y = 6 where one condition gives x

so INSUFF
