econphdprep
Is an Operations Research course the same as a Linear Programming course, at least at the undergraduate level? Some schools offer a course in operations research, others in linear programming, and I've seen some people use them interchangeably, so I was wondering. Thanks! zshfryoh1
The field of operation research contains optimization methods and stochastic methods. A generically labeled UG operation research class could solely cover optimization methods, or could solely cover stochastic methods or could cover some combination of the two and I have seen UG classes of all three types being offered. You need to look at the syllabus.
