mail2jkd
IMO B! Among distinguished artists manic depression and major depression - manic depression and major depression are not artists. Among distinguished artists Davinci and Gogh are - right So, rates of is necessary. ten to thirteen times needs more than for comparison. mail2jkd
Rising Sun: Can you tell me why 'more prevalent than in' is wrong here. Thanks!
Rising_Sun
Rising Sun: Can you tell me why 'more prevalent than in' is wrong here. Thanks! My simple reasoning to get away from B was '13 times more prevalent' means the rates are 14 times prevalent, which is not intended in the original sentence. Correct me if I am wrong. mail2jkd
Rising Sun: I see your point. Thanks for the reply! Star: What is the OA? Thanks!
star_321
The OA is E... We have to discuss this answer option.
Neo_On_A_Mission
Good question. Agree with OA and Rising_Sun :) Agree with Rising_Sun on '13 times more prevalent' means the rates are 14 times prevalent, which is not intended in the original sentence The rates of is simply wrong here. You can say rates of occurrence of X is more in A than in B. You can't say rates of X is more in A than in B Eliminate A, B and C right away. D is wordy and unidiomatic. E is clear and concise.
