Here is my Profile.I am from competant Indian IT pool.Applying for MBA(MIS) WoRking in MNC for more than 3 yrs. GMAT SCORE:680 q48 V 35 GPA :70%(?) wORK EXPERIENCE: 2.5 YRS WILL ME MORE THAN 3 BY JUL 06 (3 months in US) Currenting manging a team of twelve cattering our clients in korea and china Acheivements: 1.Designed a software for college admininstration and sold more than 15 copies when I was doing my Engineering. 2.Have won 3 prizes in National level programming contests. 3.Was a School President. 4.I am a active rotary club member. 5.Have organized many comedy shows and collected a really huge amount for Kargil Relief Fund and Tsunami Relief fund. Target B-schools: (20-30) University of Notre dame University of Indiana (kellys) (30-50) Arizona state University. Iowa State University. Texas A&M(Mays School) Georgia Tech University Will you people let me know the chances of admission

Hi David, I scored 680(Q48,V35).. I have worked on oracle finance for 2.5 yrs by next july (more than three years). I have done a lot of social activities..conducted many comedy shows..to collect funds whenever India was struck with calamity(Eg.Tsunami) I am targetting at universities ranked 30 to 40 in US... What are my chances in getting in those universities. Thansk in advance........

Just back from the center....... I was targeting above 700...I panicked in the mid of Quants.:crazy: .hence ended up with only 48 in Quants. I used to score atleast 49 in all my pracitse tests... Had I got 49 I think I would have touched 700..... About the Exam. AWA: Nothing great abt this section.But people who are not comfortable with the issue topisc,go through the titles of issue topics and make sure u understand what they mean.. Issue "Courtesry is rapidly dissappearing..." Argument I do not remember but was definitely an easy one. Quants: For people,who are comfortable in Quants,do not Panic?If you do not know a question..Dont waste much time on it..This is one mistake I did..I was struck up with one question in the middle and wasted almost 5 minutes.... For others,do not only practise questions from the OG.Try solving problems from this forum.Atleast some of the questions in the real exam are definitely above OG level. I would say questions in quants are getting tougher,if not very tough.There were a couple of questions on permutations and combinations.Nothing gr8 abt these..I was struck up in a work problem in the middle...wasted aroud 4 minutes..finally ending up with no answer choices..The questions were defintely a step ahead of OG questions. The first few questions were the easiest ..So do not waste time taking extra precautions to make sure they(questions) are right. I was surprised to see a few questions from this forum.So make sure you solve as much questions as possible. Standard:Gmat prep Verbal: This was one section I feared the most.I was scoring around 36 to 39 in my practise tests..Of course I knew the answers of some of the questions. But was expecting atleast 36.... Sentence correction: Questions were of only OG standard.Practise OG and 1000SC and I am sure you will not find it difficult to crack this section.There were actually two questions from GMATPREP... Critical reasoning: I had only one boldfaced CR.I think I answered it correct.They were only of the OG or Gmatprep standard.If possible download 1000 cr and try your hand on it. Standard:OG Reading Comprehension: I think it was reading comprehension that really brought down my score.I had 2 long RCs and 2 short RC.Some how I was not able to grasp what the passage was trying to say.I was not able to do the 1 RC properly.so every time a RC appeared I panicked.For the last one i did not have time to go through the passage.. Just clicked on random choices ..Pracise really tough Rc's so that u dont get bugged up by these section.download 1000 RC and pracise as much as possbile. Standard:cannot rate I filled up the demographic information and clicked on "view score". .it was 680.I was neither sad nor happy looking at the socres. Erin you are doing a wonderful job. Consider this case b^2+c^2=80 St1: b=+4,-4 when b=+4 c=sqrt(64)=+8,-8 when b=-4 c=sqrt(64)=+8,-8 hence the bc can have the value -32 or +32 because -4 * -8=32 -4 * +8=-32 Hence to get the exact value of bc we should take both statements into consideration. when b-c=12 b must be equal to 8 c must be equal to -4 hence the answer is C
