  1. hi to all of you! maybe my essays which i have posted are REALLY TOOO BAD [xx(] ..but then: PLEEASE TELL ME, that my essays are bad! ..but no reply? hmm. here's my third trial, hope to get a comment on a) structure b) language (is it to stilted? not formal enough?= I WOULD REALLY appreaciate a comment / rating, because on March 24th is my toefl, and I guess I am not fit at the moment to pass it [V] thx in anticipation! ----#004 From my point of view it is difficult to discuss whether the knowledge gained from one’s personal experience or from the lecture of books can be considered more important. The consideration of this issue is partly influenced by one’s personal definition of so called knowledge. For me knowledge embodies all facts, figures and methods that are taught throughout schooldays, studies and at work. Add to this, knowledge is enhanced by parental education which endows us in our childhood and adolescence with distinguished attitudes and habits that influence the forming of our character. On the one hand the primary and secondary scholar education provides a large variety of different kinds of knowledge – mainly derived from the lecture of books. This basic education evidently provides the foundation for higher education at university or vocational education after secondary school. Deprived of this schooling one would hardly be able to make a living. But on the other hand knowledge gained from personal experience and parental education additionally contributes to one‘s ability to get along in everyday situations. For instance traits like open-mindedness and communicative competence are beneficial at work due to the fact that communication to spread every kind of knowledge within an enterprise becomes onwardly indispensable in today’s business community. These traits cannot be learned from books but solely derive from parental education and personal experience. In a nutshell, taking into account the necessity to earn one’s living, I come to the conclusion that knowledge from books is of greater importance than knowledge gained from personal experience. However in today’s business community personal relations to associate partners are of immense concern. Those relationship cannot exclusively be based on mere scientific knowledge – personal experience and communicative competence are in this case of prior importance.
  2. hi folks, as a newcomer I hope for some comments, because I have no real sense, in which direction my essay-trials tend. ---> if this trial completely flies into the face of the general essay-idea, PLZ!!! let me know. (by the way, nice icons:[dance]:D) _____ From my point of view the answer to the above stated question can solely be: Yes, it is a good idea to be earning one’s own money even if one is still young and at one’s studies. But in general the decision to spend time working during one’s studies depends on the one hand on one’s financial circumstances. On the other hand one’s ability to manage studies, houseworks and attendance at lectures in order to acquire sufficient knowledge to pass the exams migth additionally limit one’s available time for a job. Taking into account my personal situation at studies and considering my present monetary situation I soon arrive at the conclusion that it wouldn’t have been feasible for me to afford the needs of everyday’s life without earning my own money. Moreover being financially independent from my parents makes me feel comfortable and grown-up. However while preparing intensively for my diploma exams or my promotion I would rather make allowances for pausing my job, due to the intensification of studies. In a nutshell, I consider having a job while attending the university rather important as long as earning money does not hinder the achievement of scholar aims.
  3. hi there! this is my first trial to write an essay :-/ hope to receive loads of criticism to improve my ability to write. thx in advance ;-) ------------------ From my point of view it is difficult to discuss if the source of success is solely based on hard work or not. This matter is fixed with the personal attitude towards being successful at first and secondly by defining success in general. For instance, some people consider being successful as doing a good job or work in an executive position. Therefore on the one hand success may derive from serious and straight work, on the other hand it can also be based on lucky chance. Redundancies of executive personnel may unexpectedly lead to promotion of younger inexperienced staff, who are thus to be considered very lucky. In this case the higher executive position – equated with success – is achieved by the lucky conditions. But in my opinion being successful does inevitably not go in line with vocational achievements. For me, success is additionally described by the comfortable feeling in personal life. Profound relations to friends and family and inner contentment contributes my individual feeling of being successful. This view possibly differs from general opinions, because just bringing home the bacon at my job without the joy in private life does not suffice for making me feel successful. In a nutshell, I can state that I am neither able to disagree nor to agree to the quotation above. From my point of view being successful may as well derive from hard work and can also be caused by lucky circumstances. But lucky circumstances do not guarantee success, still you have to make head or tail of this situation!
