  1. The yield per acre of coffee berries varies enormously in that a single tree, depending on both its size and on climate and altitude, could produce enough berries to make between one and twelve pounds of dried beans a year. A. enormously in that a single tree, depending on both its size and on climate and altitude, could produce B. enormously in that a single tree, dependent on its size and also on climate and altitude, is able to produce C. enormously, because a single tree, depending on its size and on climate and altitude, is able to produce D. enormously, because a single tree, being dependent on its size, climate and altitude, is capable of producing E. enormously, because a single tree, dependent both on its size as well as on climate and altitude, could produce

  10. A guy picks up fruit from a stand. If he chooses the same number of each fruit two times, we think these two times are the same. Otherwise, they are different. Can you tell if there are more than 7 fruits? 1). There are more than 18 choices to choose one fruit from each kind of fruit. 2). There are more than 24 choice to choose one fruit from one kind and two fruits from another kind. Please explain. Sorry for Double post. Please delete this post.
  11. One rectangular, with one side 18 feet and other side 12 feet, is to be covered by two types of squares (or rectangle). How many pieces are needed? 1). The area of the first type of square is 36, the area of the other type of square is 72 2). The first type is rectangular with 16 inches and 8 inches, the second type is square with 6 inches side, and same amount of these two types are to be used. My solution below, please comment :p --------------------------------- I think it is E. for 1) 1st square becomes size of 6 and, 2nd square become size of 6 root2. ractangular's length is 18 and width is 12. you can not make either length 18 or width 12 with any combination of 6 and 6 root2 So, discard A 2) for let's count total area for rectangle 's area = 4/3 X 2/3 = 8/9 sq.feet and for square's area= 1/2 X 1/2 = 1/4 sq.feet n is number for each. so n X ( 8/9 + 1/4 ) = 216 so. 41 x n/36 = 216 n = 216 X 36/41 you can't devide 216 X 36 by 41 with remider 0 n is not whole number.. so discard B and discard D you can't combine both 1 and 2 that results into three kind of square or rectange. discard C ANS E

  15. Thanks Guys! I did not get the explanation in red; Can you eloborate. ABO is an isosceles triangle (given AB = CO = BO) and so is COB. So /_ OCB = /_ BAO. /_COD = /_ OCB + /_ OAB = /_OAB + /_OAB = 2 */_OAB 1) So if we know /_COD, we know /_OAB. suff. 2) If we know /_BCO, then we know /_OCB (=/_OAB) as well. suff. Hence D.
