  1. Hello , Can anybody be kind enuf to throw some light onto my question regarding the level of calculus and stats knowlegde that is required for PHD in Business(MIS concentration)? NExt, what is the ranking of the PhD programs in Business of temple Univ and Drexel Univ. How competitive are their programs...any ideas? Thanks!!
  2. But the formula in (1) holds good only for j>1....so how can we use that to find x1?
  3. From 1, it is clear that the operation is not subtraction and division. It has to be multiplication or addition bcus only these cases, the result is greater than LHS. So the question stem is true for + and X. So A suff. From 2, the operation can b division or multplication...so insuff.
  4. Since from neither 1 and 2 or from question stem we can deduce the actual number of people in the group, ans must be E. 22 is only a portion of the ans. so insuff.
  5. Please help explain the answer to this- Thanks
  6. Can you tell me what's wrong with this reasoning? Probabbility of selecting one spoiled apple= 1/5 *1/4 (he selects one spoiled apple and the one unspoiled of 4) = 1/20. Please help me understand. Thanks v.much
  7. Please help me with this - A basket contains 5 apples of which 1 is spoiled and the rest are good.If Henry is to select 2 apples from the basket simultaneouly and at random, what is the prob that the 2 apples selected will include the spoiled apple? Ans choices- 1/5,3/10,2/5,1/2,3/5 OA- 2/5
  8. Please help me undestand how the solution works to the desired ans. In a certain conference room, each row of chairs has the same no. of chairs and the no.of rows is 1 less than the no.of chairs in a row.How many chairs are in a row? 1.There is a total of 72 chairs. 2.After 1 chair is removed from the last row, there is a total of 17 chairs in the last 2 rows. The OA is D. I can't figure out how only 2 is sufficeint. Thanks.
  9. A draws the conclusion in the question without any evidence. C is the only argument among the choices that follows this pattern.
  10. Let p = count of ppl who had house only in p.b and not at Hamptons h = count of ppl who had house only in Hamptons and not at p.b Let x = total no of ppl attending the party. From 1) p = 1/2x -180 Insuff. From 2) h = 2/3x-180. Insuff. Combining 1 and 2,...insuff. So ans = E
  11. The diameter is 80^1/2. So the area of the circle is 20Pi.
