  3. E. 'As many as' is the correct idiom. The rest of the choices are awkward when clubbed with 'about'.

  11. BGJ, In quant, I use to get 3-4 wrong. And in verbal, arnd 9-10 wrong. I know my verbal score is not reflective of it but its just a matter of day.
  12. Congratulations Calvin.....what a great score. Gud luck for ur apps
  13. Thanks Guyz !! T-Rex, I feel a real GMAT was a lill tougher but definitly like GMATPrep....I think key to success is keep ur cool and for DS questions always give a second thought, especially in first few questions. Also Sets help u to shape in proper frame of mind....I will say we should do them under time conditions, which is very important....I personally used to take almost whole time(75 mins) to complete sets initially but then it improved by atleast 7 min(Avg)...and as i said it reflected in real exam too...I was able to complete test arnd 12 minutes earlier. I have a question to u guyz....I want to know for what all 1 yr MBA schools my school is competitive(Including ISB)....or else suggest a good site where I can look for this kind of info. Gud luck guyz for ur prep...i'm sure we all will be able to beat GMAT (tricky test..as they call)
  14. wat to say more....its inspiring for many ppl arnd on this forum. Well done dileepsh!! anyway whr u plan to apply?
  15. Thanks to all guyz!! Actually, the difference between first and second attempt was only that in my second attempt I concentrate a lill more on first 15 Q of verbal...and i think it paid off...but unfortunately couldn't capitalize on that start and messed up a lill in end. Otherwise everything was almost similar...i believe other than ur hard work, it's just a test of concentration and stress. lemme know if you want to know anything else....
  16. Hi All, Today I gave my GMAT test and at last I was able to break 700 barrier...and satisfied that I don't have to go back to test centre again. You probably might have seen my previous score of GMAT (640), which i have exactly one month back. To say the least, I was totally demotivated after that attempt but for sure didn't underestimeted my ability....that was my strong point in these last 20 days prep....but last time's verbal score did affected my this score too bcz i was not that confident this time. okay regarding my prep... I included following in my prep: OG(11th), OG Verbal, theory part of kaplan, 1000's , Sets, and TM. This all i did before my first attempt and from there on i didn't studied much ...i just kept myself involved with GMAT through TestMagic and scoretop. Actually, to be honest, I wanted to reappear for exam with in 15 days but rule doesn't allow that ...so i had to wait for another 15 days :). I won't say this is best way for retake but in my case this was the only possible case. Test: AWA was normal, but i hate writing, which doesn't make any sense at all...so i simply passed one hr. Quant was as simple as it can....most of the questions were very similar to questions we discuss on this forum...Indeed I manage to finish quant section atleast 12 minutes before time. I got a questions on number theory, trick DS questions, Geometry, 1-2 on inequality and a few probability questions. Verbal - Actually, before the section started i felt heat of my previous attempt even when i feel that i'm a take it easy type of guy....to be honest...this exam is nothing much than a stress management test. This time I started carefully and i think did well in my first 15 questions and I thought that i'm definitly heading towards a big one but then a big and complex RC came which broked my concentration and I took almost 15 minutes in that RC ...probably i got 2 wrong out of 4 RC questions...And from there on it was catch the train story......in last three minutes i was left with 8 questions including a simple RC...but i knew if i start reading it then i 'll just be able to read the RC...so i skipped and went to my favorite CR...and to add more i couldn't tick last question ;) After completing this section that I could have done much better after getting a good start...but anyway its past...n i don't even care much thats all for now..... i want to sencerely thank to all on this forum for all the help, especially those who motivated me in last one month.....thanks a ton guyz...u are awesome!!! Regards, Ravi

  19. In parts of the Caribbean, the manatee, an endangered marine mammal, has long been hunted for its meat. Having noted the manatee hunters’ expert knowledge of manatees’ habits, local conservationists are encouraging the hunters to stop hunting and instead to take tourists on boat rides to see manatees. Tourist interest is high, so the plan has promise of achieving the twin goals of giving the former hunters a good income and helping ensure the manatees’ survival. Which of the following, if true, raises the most serious doubt about the plan’s chance of success? A. Many tourists who visit these parts of the Caribbean are uninterested in manatees and would not be willing to pay what the former manatee hunters would have to charge for boat rides to see manatees. B. Recovery of the species would enable some hunting to continue without putting the manatees’ survival in jeopardy again. C. In areas where manatees have traditionally been hunted for food, local people could easily replace the manatee meat in their diets with other foods obtained from the sea. D. There would not be enough former manatee hunters to act as guides for all the tourists who want to see manatees. E. To maintain their current income, manatee hunters who switched to guiding tourists would have to use far larger boats and make many more trips into the manatees’ fragile habitat than they currently do.
