  1. 1. Yes, I'm referring to Manhattan GMAT books in my earlier post 2. TM = Test Magic (this site used to be called Test Magic when I was on it back in the day) 3. The SETS were just pdfs of similar questions to the GMAT...I don't know whether they're still around now though. 4. GPREP was Gmat Prep. It was the software that the official gmat website gives out for free. The interface was exactly like the actual test (from the color of the screen to the timer in the corner). It was great for prep when you did them under real time constraints. 5. Yes, I'm referring to Manhattan Sentence Correction guide. Again, a great resource. That Manhattan Series was critical because I began seemingly not knowing a thing! HTH Tbay
  2. With such short notice, I'd just suggest going through the verbal section of the GPREP software as often as possible...that's what I was doing before I got ready to take the test. Your quant is good. Just get a 680 and you'll be good. I know people who've scored lower and had the opportunity to sit right next to me at Wharton....and even HBS, but he chose not to because he went to Stanford instead. Work on your story after you hit that 680 because that's going to matter more in the end. HTH
  3. For tough RCs check out some LSAT material. They aren't THAT tough, though. Check out what they have available on the yahoo group (do a search on TM and sign up. They have TONS of free docs that will be able to help you out--maybe even a quant doc with all of the fundas on it)
  4. @kirtikant and queen: when I used BC, there was a trial version that you could use before purchasing the service on month-to-month basis. I'm pretty sure that this option is still available. TB
  5. Get a 650 and forget about the GMAT. If your app is strong, you'll get into HBS, Stanford or Wharton. Trust me (I know folks at all three who didn't even score 650!)
  6. Definitely get the Manhattan guides and really get into each one. Without the basics, what's the point of attacking Q48+ questions? You won't see any of them on the test unless you get the easier Qs right first. The best thing that worked for me was Bellcurves.com. I mentioned this in my thread.I answered every question on the site (after I had already been through the OG11 and MGMAT books...and spent HOURS on TM). Also, take a look at the CR Bible from Scoretop. This was also helpful. HTH. Tbay
  7. I definitely agree with the above. His documents were very well organized. BTW, I no longer have my materials (PC crashed), nor do I have Clintonn's verbal notes, which I referenced in my thread.
  8. It has a been a while since I last posted here, but I wanted to come back and congratulate those of you who've dug down deep and conquered the GMAT. It is true that GMAT is only one part of your overall package, but it is a significant part. Continue to go hard because I want us all to make it. TM is a great resource and I knew that I wouldn't have been able to do as well as I did without the support of this community. I appreciate you guys :D. This is most likely my last post TMians. To all of you struggling right now, don't sweat that. Stay on the grind, stay determined and things will work out. I'm proof of that. Your favorite son, TBAY (and just in case you guys were wondering, I was admitted to Wharton)
  9. I have to agree with what iisan said regarding study materials and doing what works for you. One thing that really helped me improve my math and verbal fundametals (the Official Guide tries to teach you a little in the opening pages) was the Manhattan GMAT books. They were amazing for my quant skills. If you can find a used set, I know that both your Q and V scores will certainly improve. Also, just try to incorporate some reading into your daily life (if you aren't doing that already). Just look at it as conditioning for when you re-take. This way, you'll be used to reading complex articles by then, and you'll improve comprehension too. The situation that you're currently is the hardest part of the journey, but I can already see that you're a fighter. You'll come out on top the next time. Keep your head down and keep grinding. TBAY
  10. Glad to see that this site helped you VIP. This was truly the difference for me. I barely participated on TM during my last month of prep. I did EVERY problem on Bellcurves and it definitely paid off. As you said, the questions are representative of the actual GMATquestions. Congrats on your improvement!
  11. That's what I'm talking about baby!!!!!!!!! All we have to do is conquer ourselves and the rest is history. We all have it in us. Congrats avenkate [clap]
  12. They pay about $37 in FL (for grad interns though)
  13. Last I remember, Maxunderground was working the explanations to the SETS. You can send him an email (I believe his email is maxunderground@gmail.com) and see what he has. I saw one document that he worked on, and it was of nice quality. It won't hurt to try.
  14. Here is a link to the yahoo group that I've referenced on here a few times. Once accepted, you'll have access to many wonderful documents that will greatly improve your scores. The SETS (1-20 and the famed 21-31) are in there, along with a host of other documents that I and many others have found helpful. Check it out. gmatnetwork : GMAT NETWORK Enjoy, TBAY (TM's favorite son)
  15. Congrats Prawler. Nice improvement on the Verbal. Good luck on the next steps.
