  1. Thanks everyone for your valuable input. As for my profile: Econ undergrad from a first tier liberal arts college, top 1 percentile in the graduating class. GRE: above 750 quant. and over 600 verb. Worked in the corporate world for a little over two years.
  2. I would appreciate it if I could get some feedback on which public policy phd program is better from different aspects.
  3. How easy is it to apply for external financial aid or fellowships if you get an offer of acceptance but the school tells you to apply for external aid. Anyone has any idea? btw, I am an international student although living in the US for more than five years. Since I am not a US citizen or a permanent resident, I do not qualify for a lot of fellowships. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks!
  4. Same with me! I have no contingency plans. I am working right now but i've been working at this place for almost three years and this is not what I want to continue doing in future..so it is completely pointless. I have no other plans than going to grad school. Oh god, why is it so hard to get what you want :(
  5. I check this forum 50 times a day both from work and home. I agree with you all, march madness is finally here and i still haven't heard from most of my schools.. I feel like i've been watching the most thrilling movie of my life and participating in these forums intensifies the thrill. How do you guys manage to get anything done at work if you are working or at school if you have classes? I am having a hard time here..
  6. Well, if you are talking about any kid of news, a friend of mine got a rejection letter from Cornell's phd in econ program about two weeks ago. Congratulations on the admit! way to go!
  7. Syracuse Univ. is actually ranked no. 1 or so by US news.
  8. Thanks for your reply! I applied to harvard, princeton, cmu, umich, uchicago, etc. I'll definitely let you know if i hear from any school. Please keep me updated too.
  9. If this is any helpful to you Econ folks, a friend of mine got a rejection letter from Cornell for Econ PhD last week.
  10. Anyone heard from public policy phd programs? if yes, could you please list the schools you have heard from and the decisions. I am really getting quite anxious at this point. Even if you haven't heard from the schools, any other info you have would be helpful.
