  1. MGMAT_WIZARD, What is your feeling about the 1 day workshops? The last two GMAT tests I scored 640, with no real weakness in either verbal or quant. I've practiced probably every GMAT problem at least twice (OG10, OG11, Quant and Verbal workbooks). Do you think the individual workshops may be able to help? Thanks
  2. I am not sure I agree with your statement natedog, "You better downplay your military service because the academic elite are basically anti-military and anti-American. " On the contrary, being a former military officer and a West Point graduate, I have found that top five schools are delighted to have military officers in their classes because military officers bring real world leadership experiences that no one else in the class has. This is even more true with military officers that have recently served in combat. Top schools are looking for well rounded leaders and they know that military officers are exposed to real world leadership scenarios that hardly anyone in their peer group has experienced. Of course I am a little biased, but that has been my assessment and all of my classmates assessments that are at Standord, Harvard, and basically every top 10 school in the US. Now of course you don't want to talk just about your military experience, again you have to show that you are well rounded.

  6. Each employee of Company Z is an employee of either Division X or Division Y, but not both. If each division has some part-time employees, is the ratio of the number of full-time employees to the number of part-time employees greater for Division X than for Company Z? (1) The ratio of the number of full-time employees to the number of part-time employees is less for Division Y than for Company Z (2) More than half of the full-time employees of Company Z are employees of Division X, and more than half of the part-time employees of Company Z are employees of Division Y

  9. please help with the following problem. thanks
  10. I think the OA is 24, because the question asks for the number of machines that might be able to and 24 is the closest.
  11. Here's how I did it: I first figured out how many copies 1 machine can make in 1 min. So, 300 copies in 20 min = 15 copies/min, you have 7 machines, therefore, each machine can produce 2.1 copies/min. With that info I made the following eqn: Total copies = [(2.1copies/min/machine)*# of machines]*time(min) So, 800 copies = (2.1x)*15min, solving for x the closest I get is 24 machines. Can anyone cofirm my solution please, thanks.

  16. Agree with E..... I think the trick here is to have you overlook that perhaps some people didn't pick either desert or coffee. we cannot assume that all the guests chose one or the other or both.
