  1. Hi Erin, I am aware that you have already discussed following question in one of the earlier post. But I still have a doubt. I will be obliged if you can give some explaination to it. The peaks of a montain range, acting like rocks in a streambed, produce ripples in the air flowing over them; the resulting pattern, with crests and troughs that remain stationary although the air that forms them is moving rapidly, are known as standing waves. C) crests and troughs that remain stationary although the air that forms them is moving rapidly, is E) stationary crests and troughs although they are formed by rapidly moving air, is Here, "although the air that forms them is moving rapidly" seems to be confusing. I did understand what you said that "Although" should be used for complete idea and should not refer to the nouns. But what about "is moving rapidly". To my ears, this doesnt sound correct either. Please help me understand this question completely. Thanks...
  2. Hi Erin, Can you tell me, how many maximum mistakes (out of/41) somebody can commit in verbal section and still get more than 700. I am sure you will have some kind of statistics on that. Thanks..Salvin.
  3. Hi Mehta, I am also an engineer like you and have been preparing for the GMAT. I would like to know, on an average, how many max mistakes you used to target in the verbal section. Thanks, Salvin.
  4. Not sure what the answer is? "Each" should be treated as singular and thats what is creating confusion. Although it claims to delve into political issues, television can be superficial such as when each of the three major networks broadcast exactly the same statement from a political candidate. (A) superficial such as when each of the three major networks (B) superficial, as can sometimes occur if all of the three major networks © superficial if the three major networks all (D) superficial whenever each of the three major networks (E) superficial, as when the three major networks each
  5. 'Have been' is not appropriate in E. Therefore A should be the correct one.
  6. Following question has already been discussed in this forum, but there were no convincing replies. Please help me to resolve this riddle..... > A) B) Three percent of beer volume is alcohol; of wine it is twelve percent, and of whiskey, cognac, and rum it is forty percent. C) By volume, beer is three percent alcohol, compared with wine, which is twelve percent alcohol; whiskey, rum, and cognac are each forty percent alcohol. D) The percentage of beer volume that is alcohol is three. compared with wine's twelve, whiskey's forty, cognac's forty, and rum's forty. E) The percentage of beer volume that is alcohol is three; that of wine is twelve, and that of whiskey, cognac, and rum is forty.
  7. I dont think would be the correct choice. Because 'It' in 'A' represents neither 'the new principle' nor 'urban development zones'. I think the correct choice would be 'B'. It seems parallel and 'One' represents 'a new principle'. What do you say guys.
  8. Hi GMAT Gurus, Following are some of the questions which are troubling me. I hope, one of you "SC God" can put me out of my misery.
