  1. IMO B Look at the comparison A --> competitor's cost = 2 ( maintainance cost of Mills) B --> competitor's cost to maintain = 2 ( maintainance cost of Mills) C --> competitor's cost to maintain = 2 ( cost of Mills) D --> competitor's cost to maintain = 2 ( maintainance cost of Mills) E --> competitor's cost to maintain = 2 ( cost of Mills) So only B and D are race as they compare correct costs Out of that D is too lengthy and clumsy so B seems apt !!
  2. IMO C Either it should be requires that anyone...make.... or requires anyone....to make....
  3. Has to be B In E we are comparing % of students with number of student....which is wrong...either it has to be comparison between % or between students. For rest, sequence is not correct.
  4. IMO C 'Forbid ...To' makes sense
  5. IMO E... in C 'Allows for it' is correct idiom but 'and' in the sentence makes it wierd
  6. Hi catchamogh, U r forgetting 1 thing here....... "Researchers have hypothesized that this predisposition in westernized Blacks may reflect an interaction between western high-salt diets and genes that adapted to an environmental scarcity of salt" Mentioned ppl are having blood pressure problem because their genes are adapted to scarcity of salts but they are eating high salt western food A says that blood pressue is low where salt is readily available.....because genes of such ppl are adapted to natural availability of salts. D says "have been situated far inland from sources of sea salt, and far south of Saharan salt mines"....but there could be other source of salt...it doesn't say that salt is not available.
  7. IMO E It says there is no contact between pollen and caterpiller. If still they died then it must be due to some other reason.
  8. IMO A. It is said that along with rice and yams all staple crops got introduced there. But it may be the case that during same time when rice and yams got introduced, African ppl cud hav developed crop which they used to cultivate into staple crops. A states that so A shd be answer.
  9. congrates buddy............ Now you have enough time for all apps...........so right now its time for party...;)
  10. The ancient Nubians inhabited an area in which typhus occurs, yet surprisingly few of their skeletons show the usual evidence of this disease. The skeletons do show deposits of tetracycline, an antibiotic produced by a bacterium common in Nubian soil. This bacterium can flourish on the dried grain used for making two staples of the Nubian diet, beer and bread. Thus, tetracycline in their food probably explains the low incidence of typhus among ancient Nubians. Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument relies? A. Infectious diseases other than typhus to which the ancient Nubians were exposed are unaffected by tetracycline. B. Tetracycline is not rendered ineffective as an antibiotic by exposure to the processes involved in making bread and beer. C. Typhus cannot be transmitted by ingesting bread or beer contaminated with the infectious agents of this disease. D. Bread and beer were the only items in the diet of the ancient Nubians which could have contained tetracycline. E. Typhus is generally fatal.
  11. Often patients with ankle fractures that are stable, and thus do not require surgery, are given follow-up x-rays because their orthopedists are concerned about possibly having misjudged the stability of the fracture. When a number of follow-up x-rays were reviewed, however, all the fractures that had initially been judged stable were found to have healed correctly. Therefore, it is a waste of money to order follow-up x-rays of ankle fracture initially judged stable. Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument? A. Doctors who are general practitioners rather than orthopedists are less likely than orthopedists to judge the stability of an ankle fracture correctly. B. Many ankle injuries for which an initial x-ray is ordered are revealed by the x-ray not to involve any fracture of the ankle. C. X-rays of patients of many different orthopedists working in several hospitals were reviewed. D. The healing of ankle fractures that have been surgically repaired is always checked by means of a follow-up x-ray. E. Orthopedists routinely order follow-up x-rays for fractures of bone other than ankle bones.
  12. Has to be A. B cant be ans as correctly stated by Charu.
