  1. Man!! You rocked big time!! [clap] Heartiest Congratulations! Waiting for a huge debrief from you, because just a few words from a guy, who scored 790 will not do! Many Thanks in advance :)
  2. Casar82, I think you are correct. I need to get a good score in Kaplan and other tough CATs to guarantee a good score in Real GMAT. The reason I screwed up in Verbal was that I found it real tough. Thanks for your suggestion!
  3. Guys, I am trying to figure out the reasons for such a score. One reason is that I had done lot of mistakes. However, can someone clarify that how consistent one should be while answering questions ? Like, I took 4-5 mins in some of the questions and
  4. A says that "most people in favor of expanding the rail system reported less congestion during their highway commute as the primary benefit they would experience". Isn't it saying that most people will have a benefit after this massive expansion ? If this is the case, then how can this option considered against the plan's success ? I might have misunderstood Option A. Hence, ignoring A. C can not be the answer, because the 'massive' expansion will improve the current 'high congestion situation'. I went with E, because this option has some data that is adding more people in the route.
  5. I think that 'in which' can be used for procedure, concept, process, some other scientific term.
  6. condition that + infinitive form without 'to' Above fundamental says that Answer should be A.
  7. A. Columbus was the Incan highway, which, over 2,500 miles long and extending Whole construction Sounds awkward B. Columbus was the Incan highway, over 2,500 miles in length, and extended Doesn't look parallel. Awkward construction again! C. Columbus, the Incan highway, which was over 2,500 miles in length and extended The greatest road system built in the Americas prior to the arrival of Christopher Columbus, the Incan highway, which was over 2,500 miles in length and extended from northern Ecuador through Peru to Southern Chile. 'which' is problematic here and not required. D. Columbus, the Incan highway, being over 2,500 miles in length, was extended Usage of 'being' is problematic here. E. Columbus, the Incan highway was over 2,500 miles long, extending Best option!
  8. I will go with A. bear&bull, Nice explanation [clap]!
  9. Whereas lines of competition are clearly defined in the more established industries, in the Internet industry they are blurred and indistinct, as companies that compete Only reason to ignore A is that usage of 'they' doesn't look crystal clear Although the lines of competition are clearly defined in industries that are more established, they are blurred and indistinct in the Internet industry, as competing companies Seems to be the Best option! I would have gone for this one. The lines of competition are clearly defined in the more established industries, unlike the Internet where they are blurred and indistinct, as companies that compete Incorrect Comparison Unlike more established industries, where the lines of competition are clearly defined, they are burred and indistinct in the Internet industry, as companies that compete Incorrect Comparison Unlike more established industries, with clearly defined lines of competition, those of the Internet industry are blurred and indistinct, as competing companies Incorrect Comparison
  10. Just remove the Middleman (after some preliminary air drying or sun drying) and try to reach the solution. A. the forming of bricks out of mud or clay, and, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, they are laid Not parallel and hence, incorrect. B. forming the mud or clay into bricks, and, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, to lay them Not parallel and hence, incorrect. C. having bricks formed from mud or clay, and, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, they were laid Not parallel and hence, incorrect. D. to form the mud or clay into bricks, and, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, to lay them CORRECT! E. that bricks were formed from mud or clay, which, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, were laid 'which' is problematic here.
  11. A. comes from antioxidants—compounds also found in beta carotene, vitamin E, and vitamin C that B. comes from antioxidants—compounds that are also found in beta carotene, vitamin E, and vitamin C, and they C. come from antioxidants—compounds also found in beta carotene, vitamin E, and vitamin C, and What is 'inhibiting' what ? Not Clear! D. come from antioxidants—compounds that are also found in beta carotene, vitamin E, and vitamin C and that Best Option! E. come from antioxidants—compounds also found in beta carotene, vitamin E, and vitamin C, and they 'they' is problematic here.
  12. I went with B, though I agree with 12rk34. Response has to be good, bad or poor and can not be 'much. Should be A.
  13. My pick is A. (Best of the lot). My reasoning is as follows: A) they grounded not only their fleets but a caste of business bigwigs accustomed to crossing the Atlantic in luxury. 'they' has a clear referent, though 'not only-but' seems problematic. But as I said, this option is best of the lot. B) a caste of business bigwigs accustomed to crossing the Atlantic in luxury were stranded as well as the fleets. 'as well as' is problematic here. C) a caste of business bigwigs were stranded and they were normally accustomed to crossing the Atlantic in luxury in the fleets which were grounded too. 'they' can have two referrences. Hence, is problematic. D) they, accustomed to crossing the Atlantic in luxury, were stranded with the other bigwigs and fleets. Who is accustomed to crossing the Atlantic in luxury ? E) they destroyed the caste system in America and Europe. Doesn't have anything to say here. Doesn't look nice.
