  1. unmarked OG 11 and PR books on sale....lotsa prep material for free....PM me if you are from Bangalore...
  2. humm...m/n=2/5=0.4 =>m=0.4n Also, m+2/n=0.5 =>0.4n+2=0.5n =>n=20,m=8
  3. total books= 2*30=60 12 guys had one book and 10 guys had 2 each..so total here=32..books left for the remaining 6 guys=28 Now each of these 6 has at least 3....to maximise no of books with one minimize those with 5...since they have to have 3 at least so books with 5 guys= 5*3=15 now books left for the 6th guy= 28-15=13
  4. there r infinite no of integer pairs having the sum 11...u gotta start substituting somewhere....first..after checkin a few pairs its obvi that one integer is -ve....only A and B options left...after that just increment 11 by one and find the other integer to multiply it with....gives A in 3rd attempt....
  5. aspirant...if u read option C carefully it says... "it allows that money..... is transferred.." which is incorrect.
  6. interesting one.....my take: A) "But rather" is redundant here.... B) sounds fine... C) changes meaning.... D) would hv liked to see a comma after family...also "the nuclear family" and "a modified family" dnt go well... E) changes meaning and incorrect sentence construction... So i go with B...
  7. reminds me....i am selling my OG 11 and Princeton Review books...both are unmarked...throwaway prices....lotsa other prep material free....PM me if you are from Bangalore....
  8. Posting after a long time...anyway...heres my take: OG 11 has better explanations....so once u r done with OG 11 ,do OG 10...yah there are overlaps but its worth the effort coz anyway there very few reliable and to the point sources available so why waste ...... (PM in case of queries....i dunno when i will post again!!)
  9. (debrief cont.....) CR was relatively easier for me....theres only one strategy here that i followed...rephrase the argument/conclusion in your mind. Now see what can strengthe/weaken it....then read the options ....It worked for me...Studied it only in OG and PR....that was enough.... As far as RC is concerned, i think there is no other way but to understand it fully.There is no other way but to practise and practise till u get it right...Here , i would like to add that OG10 has almost twice as many questions as OG11..So taken together they gave a very good practise (even assuming 100% overlap !) ....I realised this very late so couldnt make good use of it..... PS and DS was not much of a problem for me coz am from an engineering domain working in banking. This keeps my maths in decent shape...Just did OG and PR..... TESTS: Before giving the full lengths , i gave KAPLAN timed section tests from KAPLAN CD...gives a very good practise...Dint give any KAPLAN full length though....Full lengths i gave only GMATPREP and POWERPREP...4 in total.. In retrospect, i think i should have given a couple of tests more...During the real GMAT i was kinda drained towards the end... GMAT: Gave my GMAT in blore...very comfortable ...nice friendly staff..found GMAT to be very similar to GMATPREP....got one or two SCs very similar to ones i had done while practising....got one RC on economies which was a little weird.... Then there was one question the type of which i havent seen before.... there were 3-4 sentences followed by the question which asked me to identify the option which best described the layout of the paragraph...and the options were very close....humph! Maths was not too difficult....although there were a couple of quetions which were too lengthy ..couple of questions on probability(DS).....2-3 on geometry....and number theory questions were aplenty...Somehow towards the end i got 2-3 really straightforward questions ...when i finished Maths i had 2 mins to spare... I guess thats abt all...any doubts lemme know and i will try my best... well i dint do maths from OG10.. i did only OG11....In OG11 only the last 30-40 questions come close the real questions asked in GMAT...ones before that are just too easy...u get these kinds also but i dint get more than 3-4 straightforward ones ...... Those who need Manhattan maths guide soft copy can approach Gmatters and Aaragorn...
  10. refer to my debrief in "Just finished my gmat" forum......
  11. Yah...CAT material would be good..Also IMS etc have GMAT courses .. u can try that.. else buy OG and Manhattan Maths review....
  12. In the second case, when the speed is 50% faster than the older speed , the effective speed become 1.5 times the older one and hence time should become 2/1.5 = 4/3 to keep the product constant... hope it answers..
  13. 1) Required probability = 1 - P(no defective ) = 1 - 8/10 * 7/9 * 6/8 2) I dnt think GMAT tests this 3) By def 0!/0! = 1/1 = 1 4) conditional probability may come in the harder bin you may want to have a look at the probability doc i have attached in my debrief.. covers probability to the extent covered in GMAT....
