    Writing assigment

i'm sure this is the wrong section that ur posting .... hehehe.... anyway, i am not sure if i passed the GMAT but since u asked, i guess since eveyone here says [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] is the bible, so i guess u won't get other topics other than those listed in the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip].... but then again, i've not seen the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] myself so do excuse me if i am wrong.... heheh.... all da best ya in ur GMAT,
  2. all da best bruce.... hope u'll reach ur target!
  3. congratulations on the nice score.... haha.... i hate verbal btw
  4. lisa, nice business school u have there.... hmmm, since u already got 20+ for ur Q, i think it won't be tough for u to get a 30.... actually power prep shd be more than enough for Q that's what i think.... go thru more of the tutorials
  5. hi, congrats on ur improvement.... i am not sure if the graph changed or the test beacme more difficult but i guess since the test changes verey month(correct me if i am wrong), it depends very much on our luck what set of questions we get.... that's what i think
  6. hi mikey and seahorse, thanks for consoling.... really.... hmmmm, i've just checked on cal state uni LA, their average gmat score is 560.... hmmm... i might just stand a chance.... i must admit that i did not prepare for gmat.... hmmm, i did not have the time, did not get [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] as advised by many[xx(].... din even had time to go through the whole power prep although i downloaded it[xx(].... was really stoopid of me to register without knowing what to expect.... silly of me.... well, at least i was kinda active in the forum here.... heheh :D, i did helped but i guess 3 days wasn't enough btw, i guess it is mainly bcos i am really lousy with English.... i did not have enough time for the Verbal.... took me so long to even try to read and understand the questions.... it's so very tough to me.... every answer seemed to fit.... i doubt i will retake it.... i may even get a worse score at Verbal, seriously.... and it's so expensive! well i am not in US, so after conversion, it costs me a 765bucks....:yuck: hahahah anyone from cal state uni here?
  7. i am so sad.... waaaa.... i got only 19 for verbal, even worse it's only 16%.... waaa.... gosh.... i am really doomed.... guyz i need an advise here.... i don't aim for harvard or haas or anything.... just wondering if i can make it to the business school in Cal State U maybe longbeach? or LA?.... sigh.... plz kill mi !
  8. hmmm.... i guess c is totally wrong... using rates instead of rate, but how about the "compare with" and "compare to" issue? anyone?
  9. thanks there funcrazy.... will add that
  10. i agree, C sounds much better. E sounds wierd, and alters the sentence meaning a little too, don't u think so?
  11. both looks ok to me.... "that" here is refering to "protein/quality"
  12. i think resources shd be plural.... so it shd be ...are...them yet again i may very well be wrong
  13. http://bwxixi.myetang.com/gmat/syntax/gmat_by_5.html

    CR

hi, here is wht i think A: does not support the arguemnt at all right? B: seems to give a good support to the arguement saying that people can be easily persuaded.... but whythe word "abandon" C, D and E : totally out so the only option is only B
  18. thanks for the 1st one, i was lost.... -->Explanation: Pharmaceutical division Profits: 40% per Sale Sales: 20% of total $ P to S = 2 Chemical division Profits: 60% per Sale Sales: 80% of total $ P to S = 3/4=0.75 Therefore, choice C says this result. i dun really get this one.... what does fallstall actually mean? --> Find the conclusion above the message: Therefore, there is no economic justification for preventive treatment for hypertension. Now we need to weaken this conclusion; No! there IS economic justificaion for preventive treatment for hypertension. Choice A says the benefit of this preventive treatment for hypertension. it hoght this one should be A? cos it says that the constitution is fallible and incomplete, but yet it argues that there shd only be 3 departments(as stated by the constitution perhaps?), well, if it is erroneous, then why bother following it? --> I need HELP on this one as well. as for the last one, i guess i had to choose B cos the rest are all just too "not fitting" and doesn't contribute to an arguement --> Same procedure. Find the conclusion: Thus, modern physics is merely an ingenious set of fictions, and as such it cannot provide an insight into the way the world works. And then again, weaken the conclusion; fictions CAN provide an insight into the way the world works. I cannot explain more persuasively because I am also having a hard time to master this section. However, I think first step to do for this section is to identify the conclusion and supporting ideas. Thank you for reading it. Kim.;)
  19. i thought it shd be B? since it stressed on the land and area and stuff.... how can it be C? Isn't C a little out of topic here? yes it is related but the question is arguing abt "extensive areas" not why and how well cattle rearing is doing -->I can see why B attempts, but it does not mention the relationship of cattle raising to agricultural farming. B just says one of the reasons why cattle raising is preferable to agricultural farming. However, C can resolve these problems. So I think C is BETTER THAN B. Kim ;)
  20. the argument is that Arlene Hidges marketing efforts have increase the company's profits.... so we are trying to oppose that.... and the best way is to prove that he's predecessors are the one who made the effort not him C doesn't say anything abt it E. clearly states that the revenue is double lets put it a simple way income = revenue = profit + capital +overhead so id revenue increase, profit shd increase, assuming other entities are constant pls correct me if i am wrong .... i'm no economic student
  21. i dun agree with u on this one, fall2004, off and on does not indicate that he has been arreasted several times! it is just trying to say that of and on he has been peddling.... for example i can say "of and on david has been stealing from the stall" //// see? it doesn't mean that he was arrested several times.... C is the correct one bcos the latest the undated document shd be is 1959.... so it is logically before 1965,,,, but i have no idea why 1965? haha
  22. i think i gonna fail my CR..... i find all these in the forum soo tough.... i cannot even answer one.... thanks fall2004, i shall proceed to another one
  23. yea A sounds correct but why can't D be a conclusion too? evidence can make a good conclusion too right? well, if i din have the answers i would have prob gone for D.... gosh.... i am getting everything wrong
  24. very well explained again jo, thanks !
