  5. my only suggestion is to treat every full test as the real test. every time you take a full test, think of it as a the gmat retake. that way you will do everything you can to do better (in terms of identifying problems that affect your speed and accuracy). i went through the same ordeal. took test after test and did not find the scores improving a whole lot. i feel proper analysis and problem rectification between tests is the key, even if it means that your time between tests is pushed a little further than you may want it to.
  6. First of all a BIG thank you to GREMAT for having come up with this doc. I have made some minor changes to this doc (see attachment) that I feel would benefit one and all. I have segregated all PS and DS questions so that one can practice either type separately. Also, the ans are hidden to make the practice more meaningful (by not looking at the ans). Anytime you want to look at ans, just highlight the text between the dotted lines, go to Format -> Font -> Click Font tab -> Uncheck Hidden to display the ans for that particular problem. If you do not want this option for none of the problems, simply hit Ctrl + A, go to Format -> Font -> Click Font tab -> Uncheck Hidden to display answers for all questions. Hope this helps..
  7. thanks arun. will wait for your post. btw, how's your prep coming along?
  8. Arun, I had quite a contrasting experience with MGMAT. After going through test6, I opted for non-adaptive test1. I found a lot of repeats. Thought there would be no repeats on CATs and so I switched over to CATs. Found that "CAT 1 retake" had so many repeats from "CAT 6 original" that I stopped midway as the test was not becoming any useful. Could you please elaborate on how one could reset the tests? I see retake option for non adaptive tests. Is that what you were alluding to? For those not familiar with MGMAT tests, you get 6 Computer Adaptive Tests and 3 Non Adaptive Tests when you purchase one of their books. FYI, I have attached a screen capture of the MGMAT practice center.
  9. Is x negative ? (1) n^3 (1-x^2) (2) x^2 - 1 This is how I approached... 1) 1-x^20 If 1-x^2 x^2>1 x can be + or - (Ex: x=2 or x=-2; x^2=4) 2) x^2-1 x^2 x can be + or - (Ex: x=0.5 or x=-0.5; x^2=0.25) In combination, 1-x^2>0 => x^2 Hence ans E Could someone verify?
  10. awesome! you indeed are 750 material! Any pointers on how you went about preparing and how you identified and eliminated your mistakes?

  12. A wildlife preserve is being planned for 3,000 rhinoceroses. The preserve is to contain a total of 10,000 acres of watering area, plus 100 acres of grazing area for each rhinoceros. If the number of rhinoceroses is expected to increase by 10 percent, how many thousand acres should the preserve have in order to provide for the increased population? (A) 340 (B) 330 © 320 (D) 310 (E) 300 Not clear about OA.. This is how I solved... acres per rhino = 10000+100 = 10100 Increased population = 10% of 3000 = 300 # of acres required for increased population = 300*10100 = 3030000 # of acres in thousands of acres = 3030000/1000 = 3030 Not sure where where I am going wrong..
