I am studying for the GMAT again and took a GMATPREP, scored a 630. I need something to pull me to a 730. I looked into a ton of books and this one seems to be the best. It has only 200 questions (including math and verbal), but as I am working through them, it seems I am developing an insight into the test and how the makers can take simple concepts and test them in hard, or rather clever ways. I intend to fuly understand this book, then trudge through the offical guide and retake the GMATPREP. My ut tells me that Ace the GMAT is a very good book, but I don't ever hear of anyone on this site using it. Any feedback from a current or past user? Thanks. Tom

Hey, i disagree with most...if you do memorize 5,000 words, you'll own the verbal. I am taking powerprep over and over, writing dfown all the words, and retaking. If you know the definitions, the analogies are so easy, its scary. I think anologies are weighter more heavy than the RC's.

Um, NYU is a better program, the placement is marginally better and it is tougher to get into. Why is that hard to believe? The NYU GMAT in and starting salary out are slightly better than Yale's, too. I think the recruiting is slightly more active.Having said that, Yale is still an awesome program, and if 1 school is significantly cheaper than the other (including living expenses, etc) the cheaper one will be your best bet.

I would stick to an AACSB school. The Economist Ranked U-Florida # 1 globally. U-Florida's Full time is also ranked 34 by US NEWS (Tied with Boston College and Notre Dame), so there is a brand equity factor at play, too. Other quality AACSB MBAs include Penn State, NorthEastern amd Thunderbird.

I am trying to push from 740 to 800 and my biggest weaknesses are progressions and series problems. Where can I find maybe 10-15 of each progression problems as well as series problems. I know the ones that pop up on the test aren't hard, so I'm looking for practice problems that aren't too hard and are representative. Thank you so much!

Why not download the GRE Powerprep and do the quant sections? aside from the fact that some of the questions are different format, the math is the same and the questions are cut from the exact same mold. In fact there were some cross over questions on the GMAT prep and the GRE prep when the ETS wrote the GMAT. For example, do a search for "rubies" , the exact same question appears on the GMAT prep and the GRE prep.
