Country: LEBANON
- While i was doing the GMAT Test, the electricity went off, and the computer crashed, which made me wait around 25 minutes in order for the administrator to fix the problem and retrieve the data that i have already reached through the test. Note that the administrator first thought that the problem could not be recovered, and i might have to do the test again.. Anywayz, This interruption has confused me, reduced my concentration and got me worried and nervous. It also forced me to read again the Text Passage that i have already read in order to get back on track (I was at the very beggining of Verbal Section - RC), thus, causing me to waste some really valuable time.. had to guess around 8 questions in the end, so that i could finish in time..
Scaled Score
Quantative 36
Verbal 16
Total 450
This score doesnt reflect my real potential and capabalities. Please allow me to say that I wasn't well prepared for the test, considering the following reasons:
- The Gmat center re-opened its doors only 2 weeks ago, after more than 40 days of closing, due to the Massive War that Lebanon has been involved in. Moreover, During that period of war, It was impossible for me to study, in such a critical situation when we we were actually hiding in a basement, surrounded by bombings and there was no signs of "cease fire" any soon.
- The Gmat book was not available in Lebanon mainly due to the difficulties of transportation and the disconnected roads and the damaged bridges. It also couldnt be delivered from abroad since there was a blockage on the whole country.
- The phone lines were disconnected, and there was no electricity most of the time, which made it impossible to connect to the internet regularly and practice for the Gmat online.
With all these inconvenient circumstances, I had no choice other than registering for the Gmat as early as possible, and with all that, I faced problems in the Test Center.
I am taking the test next month, around the 18th of october..
Im working with the OG book.. also downloaded the free stuff that u mentioned on this sweet forum..
Didnt find any Kaplan books here.. i think there was a Princeton one though..
Anywayz.. Im really worried this time.. I was totally shocked wid my score.. cuz the day before the test i did the PowerPrep GMAT and scored 640.. which relaxed me a lot, knowing that i wasn't prepared at all, and had less than a week to randomly study for it..
