they didn't say how many were admitted, but there were a lot of people here. i would say over 30 or even 40? and they are shooting for a class size of 25.
the impression i got is that they have very good people doing applied micro and they are willing to coauthor with students. so if you are interested in applied micro, it's a good place to be. in terms of job placement, the good thing is that they want everyone to get what they want. some people there just don't want to go to academia for various reasons (it's another question whether they would have gotten a job if they had wanted to). in the recent two years people have gone to (or are going to) Cornell public policy (2), IUB, UHouston, Syracuse U, some top liberal arts colleges, some good universities abroad.
